That timeline actually doesn't line up. Fall semester ended Dec 4. Grades would have been in shortly after that. Brooks missed games on Dec 6, 12, 19, 26 and Jan 2 and 5. Spring semester didn't begin until January 25 and Brooks played starting on Jan 9.

And the prevalent conspiracy theory was that he had secretly opted out and people who couldn't see that were idiots or rubes.
