Tennessee SEC schedule ridiculously easy

Probably gonna take 14-4 to have a shot at catching UT. It does get tough down the stretch but they probably start 11-0 or so.

Gonna need our beloved Cats and AU Tigers to go 2-1 against them at least.

How does their schedule being backloaded make it ridiculously easy? They play the same opponents we do with the only difference being the opponents we have to each face twice. True we have miss state and auburn while they have Missouri and Carolina so that is two games difference there but look at the road games. Their “tough” road games are at Texas A&M, LSU, ole miss and Auburn while ours are at Alabama, Auburn and ole miss. At most I can see that being a one game advantage and that’s counting Alabama as a tough road environment. Hardly would call that a ridiculously easy schedule unless of course you deem ours to be easy as well.

Doesn’t matter. Win and everything takes care of itself. We do play Mississippi State on the road also.

No doubt about that, just countering the original intent of the post. TN has an easier schedule than us for certain but it isn’t ridiculously easy as OP alluded to. Not that much different than ours.

To be brutally honest, it probably wouldn’t make much difference right now if UT did have a tougher schedule. They are playing lights out which is why UK needs to split with the Vols.

Every other team in the league you play in a three year rotation of playing a team in year one at home, year two on the road, and year three home and home....in some staggered way.

The schedule seems to be what matchups look best on paper to get good TV coverage. UK is the biggest draw and everyone loves seeing UK lose so let’s set up the hardest teams for UK each and every year. You can bet your butt that if A&M were good this year we would have them twice. That’s just how it is and I will Continue to believe it regardless of any facts.

Oh absolutely, the main structure of the schedule remains true. The league has just taken the reigns on those two additional home and homes. Apparently they set matchups that drive ratings.

Understandable I suppose, but will probably put UK at a disadvantage most years as it guarantees two road games against tough teams. The rest of the schedule they stick with. I think it should just be rotating. I guess that's life at the top.
