Tennessee has a very clear path to the SEC title this year. I hope it doesn't happen but the deck is not stacked in our favor that's for sure.
That won't help them come tourney time. I like our slate of games...will toughen us up for March.
Their last 5 games are @LSU, @ Ole Miss, UK, Miss St, and @ Auburn.
What's easy about ending the season like that???

if you want the best seed you want to win your conference. the last 8 years it’s an inflated value in determining seeds for the committee.
Conference schedule aside, if Tennessee doesn’t make the final 4 this year they won’t ever.

This. This board has no problem complaining about our draw in the NCAAT or what seed we get. Apparently the same mindset in regards to the SEC schedule is completely different. The problem with pollsters and a selection committee being the way they currently are is the fact that perception and individualistic notions on what separates teams can vary wildly. One person voting/setting seed lines may place a lot more weight on a regular season title compared to another, whether they admit to it or not.
Thus making it important and not just a nice addition to a good season. I also just like winning the SEC. The scheduling clearly makes this harder, which is why I have a problem with the scheduling.
By far most years won't end in a title so winning the SEC is a way to enjoy success during a season. If you can't derive a lot enjoyment out of that then I don't see how you can truly enjoy all the perks of being a UK fan. To each their own, but winning the SEC would be cause for me to break out a nice bourbon and gloat. I enjoy the HELL out of winning the SEC.

No one's asking for there to be exact fairness across the board with scheduling. That's not realistic and not how scheduling works. There's a big difference between doing a rotating schedule, which is what the SEC said they were going to do by the way, and setting it due to ratings, which clearly puts the same team(s) at a disadvantage each and every year.
if uk gets its own treatment then all this general criteria doesn’t matter much. yep, point taken. it’s still a big factor in determining seeds though for “everybody else”.
you don’t remember the committee and analysts saying there will be anothrr bonus for conference champions about 8 years ago? it’s basically the best thing you can do.
I'd take drawing opponents out of a hat vs. matchups selected for ratings.
Barnhart and Cal like it.... dont let their PR stuff at times fool ya... playing more games against better competitions helps land us top 25 players.

Wasn’t Carolina’s last title winner a non-conference winner, both RS and ACCT, yet they still got a #1 seed.
They are the exception to the rule. (Don't have to follow rules either)
If Duke and UNC split the regular season series, Duke gets a 1 seed for beating UNC and UNC gets a 1 seed for beating Duke.
If one team sweeps the other, the other team can still get a 1 seed if they beat a team that beat the team they got swept by.
If for some reason one of them still doesn't qualify for a 1 seed under this scenario, they still may get a 1 seed if there simply are not 3 other teams that are worthy. To be determined by a 3 person panel of Coach K, Coach Williams and Mark Emmert.

Everybody’s schedule rotates in a similar structure in the SEC.
Each team plays three permanent opponents home and home. In our case, that is Vandy, Tennessee, and Florida.
Every other team in the league you play in a three year rotation of playing a team in year one at home, year two on the road, and year three home and home....in some staggered way.
Ex. Last year we played Georgia once In Lexington. This year we played them in Athens. Next year we play them home and home.
It just so happens that our non-permanent home and homes fell this year against the better teams and they didn’t for Tenn...

After the losses to Seton Hall and Bama, the tough remaining schedule gives UK an opportunity to work its way into a two seed in the Louisville region. Whether they take advantage of it is another matter. I will say that if UK can beat Auburn on the road today, I really like our position if we split games with UT.
He defends every team BUT UK. It’s just a joke that he, a fan of another school, lives his life to bash UK.

I put the guy on ignore, but that guy that said his location is All American Burger or somewhere bet that UCLA would beat us. I think he has STL in his name. He paid it out, but who cares? Only a clownshow of a fan would sit and watch UK in the NCAA tournament with a bet placed AGAINST them, IMO. What a miserable excuse for an existence, IMO.

Sure is a lot of the word "town" in that post lol But, yes, there's no city or town that's exempt of their own resident clowns, even right here in Cowtown. [laughing]
How does their schedule being backloaded make it ridiculously easy? They play the same opponents we do with the only difference being the opponents we have to each face twice. True we have miss state and auburn while they have Missouri and Carolina so that is two games difference there but look at the road games. Their “tough” road games are at Texas A&M, LSU, ole miss and Auburn while ours are at Alabama, Auburn and ole miss. At most I can see that being a one game advantage and that’s counting Alabama as a tough road environment. Hardly would call that a ridiculously easy schedule unless of course you deem ours to be easy as well.
How about we just start playing better basketball and win games we should win. We’re Kentucky we shouldn’t worry about our conference schedule being tougher than Tennessee’s. If we play good enough basketball we will win the conference if we don’t we won’t. It’s pretty simple really.
