The problem with winsipedia is the fact they don’t have national championships correct they are way off base..

I’m only aware of two national titles 1951, they lost to Maryland in the Sugar Bowl when they voted before bowl games and 1998 the year after we beat them in the Orange Bowl..

After the 8 obvious blue bloods. Tennesse and Penn State are right there.

The Blue Bloods of College Football IMO should be judged by Decade Dominance. Nebraska dominated for 4 decades, so any other school out can't top that run.

NFL Players in the Pro bowl is irrelevant to what the team they came from did at the college level.

In no Order (Sorry SEC your recent success is irrelevant)

Alabama
Michigan
Nebraska
Notre Dame
Ohio State
Oklahoma
Texas
USC

Those 8 are the official top Blue Bloods.

Then

Penn State
LSU
Georgia
Tennessee
Florida
Florida State
Miami
Washington

Those schools can all fight it out for the bottom 2 spots, but they are borderline as they never really have had long or multiple stints of being on top.

If I had to pick two it would be LSU and Penn State

We are in 8th place currently, teetering on the brink.

We’re currently right on the cut line. But that can be remedied pretty quickly if we can ever get our **** together. Would only take 2-4 good seasons to “re-solidify” our status.

Agreed. Hopefully we have found the right coach to lead us back to being a top team again.

I don’t give af about the nfl. That’s dumb **** iowa fans care about
I do. If we have NFL draft picks it means our team is most likely better than 3-9. It means our staff can sell kids on the fact they can get them to the NFL. Which in turn means we are recruiting a higher caliber athlete to Nebraska. It means we are beating the doors off of Iowa every year

I've said it many times. One school on that blueblood list is not like the others. There are a ton of championships from that group with one exception. The most overrated program in college football by a mile.....

I personally don’t think good seasons like 7-5 , 8-4 will do anything , we need a few great seasons 11-1 , 10-2 each with a bowl win to regain or re-solidify our status

Not gonna get that right out of the gates. We will get there I feel, just not right away.

I don’t consider 7-5 or 8-4 a good/great season(s) either. It’s better than what we’ve been, and very encouraging in the 1st 1-2 years of a new coaching staff. But calling that good or great is what inbred iowa fans do.
