Why do we refuse to commit to the run game?

Gottulla isn't Weigert, and there isn't a single guy on our defense that would have been on the 2 deep for our 2009 defense.
From a scheme perspective they were very aggressive in the run game compared to Maryland, not sure if we played vanilla because of the short week...it seemed they were very well prepared for our sets. WRs were not getting open either. I mean basic defense against us would be to jam at the line with corners, play man with two high safeties and be very aggressive with linebackers. Dylan is not comfortable throwing against man, other than the fade, especially after his 3 picks last week. He was probably told to be more selective. Play action is too slow developing with our very porous line play so their linebackers were never held accountable. Throwing deep was ineffective and wasted downs. Dylan is just terrible again man coverage, doesn't trust his WRs for good reason, so there are no timing throws. Obviously pass protection is a major problem and good protection would solve these problems as jamming would allow wrs to fit into 2 high coverage, and play action would allow us to beat linebackers in the middle of the field with TEs or backs. Great game plan by Minnesota, and things could really snowball bad if it is replicated going forward.

He's bumped his gums a ton about how great it is here but has basically said nothing of substance.
Our OL is comically bad for at least the third straight season and was exposed yet again; that wasn't caused by PSU's job opening. It was caused by our coach having to retain a **** OL coach in order to retain our QB1.
Yes I think it caused a lot of distractions. Having all that noise around is never helpful. But then again having such a pathetic O Line distractions probably don’t even matter. At this point I say if Rhule wants to go back home to Penn State, the Nebraska AD should encourage and take Raiola and his uncle Donnie with him. Keeping Donnie Raiola around is similar to your program having held on to Brian Ferentz as long as you did. Major performance issues but afraid to pull the plug on him.
