I cannot speak to if the school values athetlics. I believe they do but I don't know the admins view on things. They have a very nice stadium and get good support from their fans.

Last season they were 2-8, their worst season since going 1-4 in the Spring of 2021. Last year was more attributed to heavy losses to graduation as in 2023 and 2024 the team went 10-4 (1 win away from reaching state championship) and 9-2.

Their biggest successes came in the 70's, 90's and early 2000's. They play in the Central District against perennial contenders such as Dinwiddie (good for 8-10 wins a year), Hopewell (multi-state titles), Thomas Dale and resurgent Meadowbrook & Petersburg teams.

Over the last 19 seasons they average 5 wins a year, over the last 5 seasons that average win total is 7.

The only reason the coach left is he is being kicked upstairs; he will be the AD of the new high school opening next year.
