This is good news and they tried that rotation out on Saturday. Teddy is a huge kid. If he can get super aggressive, look out.
I couldn't tell. I watched the offensive line leaving the field after a series in the fourth quarter and holy crap Teddy stood out among that group. He is enormous. Bigger than Lyden Murtha I'd say. Total reach on my part, but he looks like he has the frame of Tony Boselli. Very lean from a man that big
This is a good example to me of why Coach Frost needs all five years. His best linemen are the ones he has just recruited. Can you imagine the thought of a freshman lineman being thrown into a game like this 20 years ago? I've said it before that many of frost's wounds are self-inflicted, and I don't know yet whether he's the answer. But one thing the guy is trying to do is build a team from the mess he inherited. I hope he is given the time.

I think the left tackle are the second most expensive players on offense in the nfl, to protect the most expensive player..they usually look bigger then most the o-line anymore.

Fair or not, I think part of Frost’s undoing will be that he only signed 1 OL in his first class and that was Will Farniok.
Jurgens got moved to fill a void, but that’s only 1 serviceable player for a group that takes up 5 spots on the field and (if) we say need more than 3 years to develop.
Year 2 he essentially brought in 5-6 (Piper also switched). 2 quit while 2 are starting, 1 backup, and 1 is 3rd string.
So 4 out of 5 spots are in their 3rd year at the position or 5th year (Sichterman)
The nature of college football may not always allow more than 3 years to get a guy ready, and if that was the worry, Frost needed to dedicate 1-2 spots each year to elder OL transfers.
Some of our OL problem may be physical, but I’d argue it’s more on development right now. If our 3 four stars (2.5 AAs) and a 5th year senior can’t consistently make holes or pass pro against Illinois, Fordham and Buffalo, then it doesn’t feel like a talent issue.
Bottom line is he’s in charge of getting a team ready to play.
If we wait 1 more year (sans the covid grace for AM) then he’s got a similar OL group with a very green QB and the excuses shift there, and it never ends.
College rosters will always be fluid and $5 million per year is supposed to manage that.
So do you fire a guy because his recruiting failed after being named head coach around January 1st and then that class disappeared. They didn't go after more O linemen in that first class because of the numbers Riley left them. What they didn't count on was the number of non-contributors in Riley's last O line class. I'm conflicted on Frost. I hate the idea of starting over but man the results have been horrible.
I keep remembering when Frost took this job that Zatechka, Stai, Hoskinson etc ALL said it was going to take 5 years to rebuild our O line depth chart. We're in year 4.
Based on Nebraska's existing talent and schedules, I think people also expected he at least would be hitting 500
Frost was named head coach in early December. He chose not to come in full time until January. That is on him.
Teddy is an INCREDIBLE prospect.
If he’s in the mix for 1st team reps though, that says more about the rest of the OL than it does Teddy. He had a ton of growing up to do out of high school.

The thought of getting rid of Frost makes me sick, but it wouldn’t be solely the OL issues,
rather the big picture and simply failing to get W’s, often from getting out-coached and accepting undisciplined ball as “ok” (i.e. stay the course).
Other programs and coaches achieve more with far less.
We’ll see how this season goes, but I’m in the unimpressed crowd so far despite the 2 W’s.
4 losing seasons would be an unprecedented tenure to keep around knowing that we lose (likely) 5 defensive starters, team morale will be crushed, and recruiting will continue to suffer.
Frost will NOT be leaving this year. The new AD will give him another year to right the ship. We all need patience but we cannot afford a new coach who will probably give us a winless season until they get "their" guys...

I believe that Alberts would prefer this, but let's see what happens between now and Halloween.
If we are sitting on 4 or less wins by then, the pressure to move now is going to grow substantially.
If the clown show continues, the counter argument will be that we cannot waste the talent we have
being mismanaged by the current coaching staff, and waiting will put us further behind.
Truth be told, I tend to believe that Frost is getting another year regardless. Alberts is very consistent in saying that he isn't going to set a number of wins to determine progress. That makes it easier to say he is going to give him another year. IMHO. Right or wrong, I just see it going down like that.
Well it could get worse than Frost but winless next year is a long stretch. Our schedule gets much easier next year.
I think you're probably right. If anything I some staff changes could be likely. One group in particular isn't getting it done.

I would play Nouli at Guard with Cochran and see what happens. Teddy at Tackle. It can't be much worse.
Piper sucks on the oline and got beat and missed alot of blocks! And he looks like his shoestrings are tied together and can move very fast!
