Wow when Teddy G is pushing for a new OC the natives are definitely restless. Looking at the numbers he presented our offense has been stuck in a rut for awhile. This season so far is abominable. See what happens this weekend, but even Illinois moved the ball fairly well against Nebraska.

Our staff seems to get the max out of our defensive talent, not seeing the same on the offensive side of the ball.

Give me a break! We just almost beat Michigan State and Wisconsin .We would very easily be 4-0 with a few breaks going our way!

While we were just a play away from winning the Wisconsin game, save the bad math on 2 pt plays by Fitz, we mailed it in against msu as HJ needed serious work.

The article lays it out nicely - "you're either getting it done or you're not getting it done." The offense is not getting it done and it hasn't for a long time.

I would guess that McCall is pretty much doing what Fitz tells him to do, so his job is safe. That makes it hard for outside observers to judge his performance, especially since we haven't seen the practice reps.

I think it's great that Fitz wants to be a leader on analytics and is trying to keep continuity on the staff. But it's way beyond time to get a fresh, outside perspective on the offense.

There’s a “bring back Cushing” crowd?

At the risk of getting pummeled by some old-timers, what about hiring Saint Gary as an offensive consultant? As I recall, he led the Colorado Buffaloes to a National Championship before coming to Northwestern, and he might be ready for a move from the Broadcast Booth to the sidelines. I bet you he would do it if Fitz asked him for help.

Now I'm ready to catch any javelins that are headed in my direction..... :D

Fitz already regularly communicates with Gary, who’s 73 and hasn’t coached since 2005. His opinion is certainly held in Hugh regard by Fitz, but not sure would be very cutting-edge.
