Tech just dropped a few notches in the conference rankings for next year.

Culver is expected to be a high pick in the draft June 20.

The 6-foot-6 guard was the first recruit that Chris Beard reached out to after he became Texas Tech's head coach three years ago.

Mooney and Owens were graduate transfers to the program last year after the Elite Eight run, when All-Big 12 guard Keenan Evans was among five seniors gone and high-soaring freshman forward Zhaire Smith left for early entry in the NBA draft.

I want to thank God and my family for the talent to play this game and always supporting me.

Thank you Texas Tech, my coaches & teammates, and Lubbock. We did things people thought weren't possible because of you.

It's time to take the next step, always a Red Raider

This was already known.

People are high on Edwards and Morretti.

Especially Morretti.
They have another European player coming from Russia that is suppose to be the best 18 year old from that country.

Beard has huge connections to European basketball as he was the one time coach of the Swiss National Team.

People still say even without Culver Tech is a Top 3 Big 12 team.

People being you. Tech will have a tough time finishing in top 4. Take your hog wash or should I say your horns down back to the Texas board.

The guy is a Top 5 pick...

Not returning.
It would have been news if he did return.

Are they a Top 4 Big 12 team?
For sure.

No.
But as of right now they are Top 3 Big 12 team with a national ranking to start the year.

They do have a very nice recruiting class.
A mix of everything. Just got a verbal from a Top 100 forward from Chicago.
A couple of Top 100 players, best JUCO forward and the Russian.
Strong 6 man class.

37 Deshawn Corprew 6'4 South Plains SG Texas Tech(hasn't shown much yet)

According to who...

The 247 composite has him as #2 JUCO and #1 forward.
Overall he is ranked 147th player coming in.

Rivals has him as a 4 star JUCO. Very few JUCOs are 4 star.

No one has West Virginia ahead of Texas Tech next year.

I am higher than most on West Virginia next year because I like Jermaine Haley.
Only player I think from WV that would play at Texas on next year's team.

I as of right now have WV in a mix with TCU, Oklahoma State and Kansas State

Have Iowa State at 10
Oklahoma at 9

I have Texas at 3-6...

The difference between Texas and West Virginia next year is huge.

Texas will control the head of the snake...
In McCabe or whoever plays point.

Rewatch both games from last year.
Your guards are not at that level.

Texas is at 3-6.
Not an elite Big 12 team

Texas has Shaka the X factor for them choking. Your wife says you are not at her level. I use the real Juco ratings not some writers thoughts and farts.

At least cite it...

Shaka coached last year.

WV will be good once they have an experience backcourt.
I am higher than most and I have them as a NCAA Tournament team.
But in 5th-7th place.

I have you as troll but higher at 2 or 3. Shaka had top 4 and 5 star players and still couldn't make the dance. Texas would be better off without him. I here Pitino is available. Unless he takes the Cleveland Cavs job.

He still does.

He has two upperclassmen guards who believe in his style. In Coleman and Andrew Jones.
Shaka isn't the easiest coach to play for especially at guard.
Just ask Kerwin Roach.

If I'm down on WVU for some reason, I always remind myself of Shaka Smart lol. What a loser. Squandering NBA talent year after year. Gale Catlett got more out of his players than Shaka Kahn ever has --except his accidental good year at a small school of course. Hook'm lol

Give a coach two guards for.4 years and you will usually see a few good teams.

Saw it at Kansas State
Saw it at West Virginia.

You also see what happens when you don't have the guards to play.

I think Shaka Smart is a National Championship caliber coach.
Don't say that about many.

Reasons are his level of talent.
Defensive style of basketball
His ability to teach his offense has increased.

According to KenPom Texas was a Top 30 team in regards to offensive and defensive efficiency.

Good chance they can end up Top 10 in both categories in 2019-2020.

Texas returns the majority of their production.
All three of their starting guards.

Plus they bring in 3 Top 60 players.
They already have a future Paul George type player on their roster in Gerald Liddell.

There is a reason why oddsmakers put Texas as a 50-1 team to win a NC next year.

They are a Sweet 16-Final 4 caliber team next year.

We will find out about Tech.

I think Culver was a lot more important than people realize.
Like I said...

People are still high on them next year.

They do have some good pieces but defensively.
I don't think they will be as strong on the perimeter so they will need to be a lot better offensively.

But as of right now TCU and Texas are the teams I think that can jump into the Top 3.

Desmond Bane for TCU might be Big 12 Player of the Year
