Tech has moved from Russell to Adidas

B) I know Adidas "treats us right", but I wish we'd move back to Nike. And this isn't a MSU logo thing. I just think their quality is better. It just looks better.

When Southern Miss went from Nike to Russell a few years ago, it was a gut punch. I'd give anything to wear Adidas. Consider yourselves lucky.

Adidas is nice. Maybe it's a just being exposed to it so much, but I really like adidas and prefer it over Nike for my personal clothing. All their shoes suck, but so do nikes, but their polos and shirts are top notch. Their athletic apparel is high quality too.

Adidas has had its share of swings and misses with MSU, but I will take Adidas all day over the garbage we had when we were a Russell school.

What Russell did to our baseball uniforms around 2007 should be considered a crime. And our football uniforms looked like cheap practice jerseys and pants.

It's the DAK effect. Seriously - 2014 was some of the best exposure Adidas could get in the US. Having MSU dominating the sportsworld for a few weeks, and those Adidas uniforms plastered all over ESPN and Sport Illustrated was invaluable to them. Doesn't hurt that they sponsor Louisville / Lamar Jackson too.

We catch a lot of heat from other SEC schools about adidas but a lot of those same schools(I'm looking at you OM) wishes Nike was half as attentive to them as Adidas has been to us. I the grand scheme of things OM's brand doesn't even bump the needle for Nike while Adidas is buying us front page advertisement all day on ESPN.com in 2014

Adidas has surpassed Nike. Nike still has money to keep their contracts with a lot of the major sports organizations (similar to Microsoft with their inferior products to Apple). I just call it like I see it.

I'm ok with Adidas & am not pining for Nike. I've never caught **** for wearing State gear because of the manufacturer. That said, Russell was a joke.

Adidas is good, I'd rather be a focal point of the brand than be an also ran for Nike. I (crossing my fingers) think they have figured out is and ATM are not the same school.

You've got the analogy backwards, ironically. Nike is holding their place in the market with flashy advertising and branding (Apple), while Adidas might not be as sexy at this point in our time but gives us much more bang for our buck (Microsoft).
