No way Griner should be in the mix.
No way JuJu competes.

Will be good to see if CC back to 100% at that time or if there are any limitations.

Jackson gets a lot of pub, but I've never really liked her game...just scores. Not a great rebounder, not a good defender. Doesn't pass it well.

Will be interesting to see how Unrivaled/P8 impacts these things in the future.

It is funny that Juju is on there considering she can't compete until next year, and she's not a pro, but CC22 couldn't get on the last roster. Different stokes I guess....

I wonder about CC getting to 100% since she obviously must not have been towards the end of the season. You mentioning limitations seems to me even more bothersome for her next season or ever.

Betts isn't a pro either.
I'm fully aware of that. My point was that was one of the reasons that they kept Clark out of the last Olympics, her lack of experience in the international and pro game and time with the USA team. Of course they scheduled that trial work out during Iowas Final four run, knowing full well she would not be able to attend.

I'll laugh my *** off when Paige and Angel make the team and CC22 gets left off. If CC22 makes the team with Paige, I'll laugh my *** off when Paige plays more than CC22.

One post is still rehashing 2024 Olympic conspiracies and the other is making up conspiracies for the 2028 Olympics.

You are just making stuff up at this point.
Really? Do tell Oh wizard. Was Clark not left off the Olympic team, (thats what this USA invite is about, preparing for who will be on the next team), supposedly because of her lack or work with team USA and no pro experience, because thats the excuse the coach used when she got grilled by the media.

You claimed they scheduled their camp the weekend of the Final Four, specifically to keep Clark from attending.

You do realize how ridiculous that is, right?

You do realize your holier the thou (and supposedly smarter) the everyone attitude makes you one of the biggest A-- hats on these forums, right? Did they or did they not make **** up to keep Clark off the USA team? that was my point. And I imagine they knew damn well she'd take Iowa back to at least an elite 8 game. She's just that much of a difference maker when the lights are the brightest. I mean why even schedule it that week during the final 4?

When do you think they should have scheduled the camp that year?

Certainly not in that 2 week window. Thats the biggest spotlight for womens college basketball. If they really wanted Clark or any of the other top players to attend why have it then? Then add in all the nonsense that Cheryl Reeve kept putting out their when she was questioned by the media.

Two days before the WNBA draft?
Was there games or something on those days that could limit participation?

Or schedule it when it is far more likely that the top players would still be playing.

I know which one I would pick

Considering the coaches on that Team USA staff were also WNBA coaches I'd assume they would be pretty busy during the days leading up to the draft.

Even if they did schedule it for a weekend after the Final Four and Caitlin decided to focus on the Draft and not attend or attended and performed poorly I'm sure there would have been a portion of people complaining how unfair it was to her that they scheduled right before the draft and a week after she just finished a grueling 5 month college basketball season.

Sh*t seems to happen quite a bit. Let me ask this, if Diana Taurasi was in CC's position there at UCONN would it have been scheduled the same?
She joined the team 48 hours after her last game at UConn, had one practice and played so no they didn’t schedule it the same.

From AI / Many women have played in the Olympics after competing in the NCAA Final Four the same year, with a prime example being Diana Taurasi in 2004, who won her third NCAA title and then went on to the Athens Olympics. Other notable examples include Tina Charles in 2010 and A'ja Wilson, who was on the 2021 and 2024 Olympic teams after Final Four appearances. Breanna Stewart also fits this profile, as she won her fourth NCAA title in 2016 before competing in the Rio Olympics.

Well this answer makes me feel a little less scared about AI taking over the world.

There were no Olympics in 2010 when Tina got drafted and A'ja got drafted in 2018 so her and Charles would have been multi year pros before they made the National roster.

Grain of salt. Point is, if they wanted her on the team they would have made it happen. If "growing the sport" was what they cared about then this was an epic fail.

In other words USA basketball had a guy in charge who did the right thing by the UCONN players. Weird. Geno and the folks in Storrs could learn a thing or two about being decent people. Nah, who are we kidding.

LMAO
