Looks like Vretman and Wormley got a bump and Barrow finally got evaluated, surprised Taylor and Lewis didn't get a bump as well.
woz, we'll definitely keep that in mind in the thread about average star ratings..

Having more recruits isn't a bad thing - its actually a positive. And we know that the players we have committed are ballers, so why even go there about average stars?

If we want to cherrypick stats to give misleading, positive stories then Flood was the #1 recruiter in a NJ university every year he was head coach!! It's a fact and positive
They also have our average incorrect. It should be 3.0 not 2.8.
Looking at average star rating alone can be very misleading because not all stars are equal, the quality and the points awarded to a 5.7 3 star is very different than that of a 5.6 and even further from 5.5, that is why even though both #26 OSU and #27 VT has higher average star ratings than RU (one 2 star dragging down the average) but ranks lower with the same numbers of commits. A much better predictor of the final ranking is the number of commits corresponding to the current ranking, even that is inaccurate because we have no idea how many recruits each school plans on taking.
Class rankings at this point really just give you a general idea of how your school is recruiting. Both teams are recruiting in the top half of the power five but neither is elite so far.
I don't know if we end up with a top 25 class, probably more like a top 35 class but this is very good and if the trend continues, Rutgers could end up a perennial top 20-25 recruiting program.
Sounds good to me. Both schools are recruiting at the same level and the psu head coaching has not been impressive so I feel pretty good.

The only one cherry picking stats in this thread is you and it's in a negative way. We do not rank these guys nor do we rank classes. We just talk about them.
Ready, this is all good news. So far, I like this class a lot.
And it helps when recruiting other players to have a solid team rating, especially as the season winds down. I have been impressed with how well Ash has done so far in recruiting. I thought it would take him until the 2018 class to do this well because it would take time to establish relationships with those recruits earlier in their high school careers. That bodes very well for the future.
For sure we can feel very good about getting the verbals from the best at their positions in NJ..... More than we have ever seen......
But if you look at the "stars" of our recruits, you have mostly threes, a two, and a four star......
This type of grading is destined to wind up in the forties, or slightly worse by signing day,
Unless a lot of our recruits get serious upgrades.... Which we may get for some....
This is not trying to be negative..... But there will be numerous programs that will wind up with many four star recruits that, on paper, will go past us.....
This has happened almost every year lately since we get more early verbals than those programs at this point.
I think that is ok, because we have a lot of talent in this class that we can all recognize.....

Recruiting rankings in June are meaningless.
The rankings reported in February are the ones that matter.

Utah was 35th with three 4* last year. Wisconsin was 36th with four. We can be in that range with possibility of Bell and Hansard and a potential bump for Melton. No doubt if we stay at one 4* our ranking will drop by the end.

Sure... My thoughts were if we kept going with exactly the level of recruits we have had to this point...the addition of Bell and Hansard would help us quite a bit.....
I am optimistic that we wind up with a couple more 4 star players.... If not, then our rank would be in the 40s or 50s, I would guess.....
A lot of our recruits are the best at their position in the state and are evaluated on the low side.
