Honestly I think it's good idea. It'll be peaceful and probably positive.
That would be a great day to announce that we are changing the name of Tillman Hall back to Old Main Hall as it was originally.
wonder how many on this board will stop cheering for Clemson because its players choose to exercise a constitutional right

Not disagreeing with your sentiment but cops are not sworn to protect and serve. They have zero legal obligation to do so. One of the many reasons why the system needs changing.

I stand up for the national anthem and always will. But I totally respect someone else’s right not to. That’s their right as an American.

I think so. Which is exactly why I would announce it then. That way, it it gets denied Clemson can say "See. We tried but the legislature which is full of UofSC grads stopped us"
To be fair, Drew Brees basically said he wanted to stand up for anthem and talked about why. Was the reaction he recieved imagined?
It’s not that he wanted to stand it’s that he failed to see why others would want to kneel. No one is getting upset about people standing.
Drew Brees didn't just say why he wanted to stand up for the anthem. He went further and characterized those who were kneeling as "disrespecting the flag."
I’m not sure if this is the most ignorant post in TI history or the greatest troll post in TI history.

Well I was thinking 2 different things. BLM and protesting to have Pearman removed.
Correct - the reason why I want change is because I love this country, not because I hate it.
If you listen to his entire interview and come up with that I don't know if i can ever see eye to eye on this with you. His entire interview for the most part said we need to do better and support each other as a country, that was 99 percent of it. The 1 percent about his belief that you should stand up and respect the flag was what everyone absolutely blasted him for.
Not everyone is going to agree with you on your opinion. That alone does not make them racist or insensitive.

People have and will absolutely continue to take heat for not kneeling. I personally don't like kneeling during the National Anthem. I don't have a problem with a protest. I wish we could find a middle ground. Can we take 60 seconds to kneel at some other point, right before or right after?
Legislature has to approve an official renaming. Wonder what would happen if everyone at Clemson simply started referring to it by the former name and NEVER used the Tillman name again. Simply switch to an unofficial ‘nickname’ ala Death Valley/Memorial Stadium. Let the politicians in Columbia own the problem as the University family moves forward.
I am not tone deaf, and since i don't have any idea what Wilbon said, and you didn't care to mention, we will leave it at that.

Absolutely time for it. It should have happened long ago.
Or.... not worry about officially renaming it and “deface” the building by taking off TILLMAN and replace with OLD MAIN.

would love to see government official response to that. Quite frankly.... there wouldn’t be.
