As for the pic. Brad has really put in work and transformed his body. Very impressed. I'm a bit underwhelmed with Bam. For a guy who is always talked about as being a big ripped guy he's not all that built. Muscle wise Poythress has a better body.
Dude, the guy is super big and thick. Remember, they aren't body builders... He is a huge dude.
I'll take a guy with basketball skills over a guy with a better body all day. Poythress' body was too big for his own good. Got in the way too much.

He is positively massive for an 18 year old basketball player.
As a 27 year old who benches 350, does he look intimidatingly huge? No, but then again, the amount of muscle it requires to do that makes it nearly impossible to soar around and dunk and run 35 minutes without getting winded. As far as basketball frames go, he's got all the muscle you could want on an 18 year old. He's bigger than a lot of grown *** men playing in the league right now - and he'll keep filling out for years to come.
As it is, no one in college is going to be able to tangle with him, unless he runs into a particularly sturdy junior or senior, and he'll leap over all of them.
If you go strictly off that photo then Bam's body is not anything out of the ordinary compared to other college bigs. Just because he plays here some want to talk about how big he is. You see guys his size every year in college. We have had them at UK under Cal as well.
As for the Poythress size vs skill argument. I'd take skill over size also but that's not the case here. Yea Bam is really good but he's not overly skilled. He will dunk, get garbage point around the basket and hit the occasional jumper. Sounds like Alex. He will likely put up better numbers than Alex but he's no AD/DMC/KAT in the skill department.

The only thing making bam look so built in the pic above is his shoulders. He does have the Dwight Howard shoulders. Sorry I'm not a delusional UK fan that think our players are the biggest, fastest, smartest, most skilled and perfect players in all of CBB. Does Bam have a good frame? Yes. Is it extraordinary? No. He's no different than Patterson coming into UK.
PPat was listed at 6'9, 220 coming into college. Bam was listed at 6'9, 240 in high school.

KAT was just 245 or so and just an inch taller.
He has the physical gifts, now can he put in the work and become a dominant player? That is the question.
