I agree that his offense (including free-throw shooting) left a lot to be desired, but Myles was an excellent fit for last year's team. He was arguably the best defensive player in the B1G. We would not have sniffed the big dance last season without him on the court.
If he could have handled being Cliff's back-up, they would have made a great combination and made RU a top B1G program
But then again, if he stayed Cliff might not have been given the opportunity to improve like he did.
But the thought of an improved Cliff with Myles backing him up would be nice

Rutgers biggest weakness is scoring. The loss of Harper's 16 points a game would have resulted in a losing season.because there was no bench player that could make up for the loss points.
Who guards Cofi Colburn, the oaf for Michigan etc

Take Cliff of this team and we probably have 8-10 less wins. Think of playing these games with Reiber and Agee only. Cliff first, Harper second and Mulcahy third….but we really need all the starters.

cliff is fast becoming my favorite player, his improvement is incredible. The only problem is that his shooting % falls from about 95% for dunks to about 25% for anything more than 3 feet from the basket.
RHJ however is the MVP.

CO is improved for sure but alot of his shooting stats are misleading dunks created by passer.
Rebounding sub -par, pillow hands that are easily stripped, below average defense on other teams bigs one on one. The 2-3 zone helps his defense drastically as the big puts ball on court pocket is picked from front side. Hes come along way but there is also a long way to go

His downside is he needs others to create his shot currently hopefully changes for next year

I think it's a bit unfair to say Cliff is MVP over Ron just because his backups are significantly worse. Ron is the best player on this team. Cliff may be a bit more consistent, but Ron has to shoulder a heavier offensive load than Cliff.

To me the answer is simple, and it’s Cliff in a landslide. He is also most improved. Everyone on the team had off nights. He has not had one in 2022.
You people are insane. Cliffs been great this year but he still can’t score unless he’s dunking. Zero inside game and a liability when getting the ball in the post because he has no post up moves or passing ability. The mvp is hands down Ron but as usual geo is getting disrespected by not even getting mentioned. You people suck.

I would say Ron is the MVP. He wants the ball when the game is on the line…. The other players look to him. I would say Cliff is the Most Important Player Without him against the teams with top bigs would destroy us if we didn’t have Cliff

I’m still giving it to RHJ, won two essential games for us and really was our only high performer the beginning of the year. We possibly could’ve dropped even more games without him. Hasn’t been totally amazing every game but still has contributed even with his shot not falling. Looking at the Julius Erving award finalists, he very well could win the award

Your player evaluation of Cliff is insane. It's like you stopped watching in January

Who shuts down the opposition top scorers each game? Hard to win when teams score an extra 10 pts per night, or we don't get transition buckets from Caleb's steals,?

National semifinalist for DPOY...

Great that we have a few players deserving of the award.

"Told you so. "

When you see this in a comment, it's pretty easy to get the intent of the post.

So is everyone here ready to admit being wrong about Myles ? Told you so. He was a terrible, unathletic and uncoordinated offensive player and only a decent rebounder because of his position in the paint.

I am sure Im no longer the only one glad he’s gone.

Now we have a legit big man who would not have developed nearly as much while watching Myles continue to set basketball offense back 50 years.
Myles Johnson was on the All Big Ten D team last year.
