Class of 2024 tight end Gavin Hoffman is headed to the University of Iowa. The 6-foot-5, 220-pound Kansas native announced his verbal commitment to the Hawkeyes today after making an official visit to campus this past weekend.

A three-star prospect with an On3 Industry Ranking of 86.22, Hoffman chose Iowa over scholarship offers from Missouri, Nebraska, Arizona State, Auburn, Tennessee, Arkansas, Illinois, Purdue, Texas Tech, and Marshall, among others.

This month, he made official visits to Iowa, Missouri, and Arizona State before arriving at his decision.

"The coaching staff is awesome," Hoffman told HawkeyeReport.com. "None of them pressured me to commit as some other schools sort of did and they really just let me feel things out for myself."

As a junior, Hoffman put up big numbers at Blue Valley Northwest with 39 catches for 713 yards and 11 touchdowns. This summer, on the camp circuit, he posted a 4.56 forty and a 40″ vertical, which shows elite athleticism at his size that should be a perfect fit at the tight end position in Iowa's offense.

"I want to go work my *** off for those coaches," said Hoffman. "My dream is to play on Sundays and I think Iowa is the best place for me to pursue my ultimate dream."

Love seeing the younger players be excited for the young mans decision. Iowa may have earned a few more fans in OP than they had last week.

Cheers to the newest addition to TEU!
