Mississippi has modified its #NIL law.Schools in the state can now be involved in athletes' conversations with third parties.Athletes may also enter into contracts as soon as they offer a "verbal commitment" to a school, prior to being enrolled.https://t.co/zUKuBS3nuW— Darren Heitner (@DarrenHeitner) April 22, 2022

Keeps us competitive, I guess. Probably don't gain any ground, because the problem for us is the lack of major NIL opportunities.

That's why focusing on the big fish is just a futile effort, IMO. Get the average joes and transfers. And JUCOs, if still advantageous.

Sigh... If only Bryan hadn't sold to Sara Lee...
Sanderson, Back Yard Burger, Steinmart, Viking, McRaes's, list goes on and on.

Not all MSU folks, but in-state companies. Mississippians love to take their money elsewhere.

I'm having a very hard time understanding your thinking on how these FORMER MS businesses are going to help MSU w/ NIL funding:

-Sanderson Farms is now Cargill/Continental Grain owned as of 9 months ago. Joe Frank is still around for awhile but doesn't hold the purse strings.

-Back Yard Burger is owned by an investment capital firm in North Carolina and has headquarters in Nashville.

-Viking hasn't been MS owned since 2012 when Fred Carl sold it, owned by Middleby Corp in Illinois

-Steinmart was BANKRUPT and sold for a measly $6 million 2 years ago and is an online only or soon to be online only entity.

-McRaes became Belk which is North Carolina based about 17 years ago.

Hoping our network booster game can join the 20th century now. ………………

That’s not a misprint.
