It's a stupid poll. For a town the size of Starkville we do fine.

You've got to wonder who thought that post was a good idea. Now they obviously didn't mean any harm by it, but they had to have known that there is an army of people waiting to be offended for any cause at all times all over social media. Just don't give them an opportunity to get out the pitchforks before you even open.

Even beyond the insult to current businesses, Wisconsin at #2???? LOL! I've been to Wisconsin several times when my old company used to go to the Oshkosh air show. It was by far the most bland-tasting food I have ever had in my life! If you want to lose weight, move there. You will lose it by fasting.

SWEAT (from the owners of TASTE)

Hey Starkville, we love you. We think you deserve to not be fat. When we ask ourselves ‘what drives us?’, the answer will always be - to make Starkville skinny and less fat.

Come make the decision to not be fat and join us at SWEAT. And if we weren't clear, you are fat.

I really do look forward to trying Taste and hope they succeed.

I have heard Taste is very good. I’m excited to try it.

had lunch there this week, very good. Also opening a Steak House next to Georgia Blue where Kings used to be, taking up the whole side of the building and adding butcher shop on the front side. I believe he said target date was in August.

That Biggameboomer twitter feed also had a list out recently ranking the 6 tiers of student sections in college football. It was a joke as well. It had MSU, Tennesee and South Carolina among tier 2, while Bama and Ole Miss were in tier 5 with schools like Memphis, La Tech, and Tulane. Just absolutely makes no sense.

They may not have the tastiest, but Wisconsin food will fatten you up.

#17 fattest state (yes, MS is #1) based on recent data. Lots of dairy up there, everything is cheese.

What's the story? Deleted my Facebook account in 2006. Yeah.. I am that guy.

Restaurant in starkville said they started the restaurant to improve Starkville's culinary image. We were ranked the #1 worst restaurant college town by @biggameboomer who I have no idea who that is.

Update - @BigGameBoomer has less followers than me on Twitter.

Certainly very arrogant of them. They aren't backing down from it, either, obviously they are seeking that 'we are better than everyone else' action. Oh well, we will see how they do.

He literally based his opinion on a google maps search. He's never been to Starkville.

Side note Madison being 2nd is... weird. Food is alright but by no means special. I get better cheese in Starkville.

Thanks DS.

OU fans are the dumbest redneck dipshits I have ever known. They are a level of trash I cannot explain. Norman is the most overrated college town in the country. Stillwater is 1000 times better. 17 the Sooners and all of their fans... The worst day of the year when I lived in Dallas was the shootout. Those disgusting pigs would filter down into my city and ruin it..

That idiot has Wisconsin in Madison, WI at #2 and leaves out UCLA and USCw. I have been to LA and to Madison. It's hard to decide where the biggest gap between the 2 cities lies... In the attractiveness of the women or the quality of the restaurants. Either way, Los Angeles has better food and ladies in their soup kitchens. Only an inbred neck from OU would put that list together.

Did you just engage in twitter follower smack? Did you take a job with the Ole Miss athletic department?

Yeah. I heard they have at least two more ventures coming to Starkville. Steak house and bakery I think where Kings was.

Rumors of another place in addition to those, but no firm concept or location last I checked.

Probably nothing more than the post missing the mark. If I had to guess, it’s not a local who made that post. That said, most restaurant industry folks are very loyal to an unspoken rule of not trashing other local places. It’s kind of a fraternity of degenerates and you don’t see much of that. A better approach, if you had to reference that post, would be saying “We totally disagree. Starkville has a great good scene and we’re glad to be part of it! #EatLocal”.

If Baton Rouge counts as a college town, then certainly the home of Tulane does as well. Which should be #1 on the list.

Imagine being gullible enough to fall for a random list from "biggameboomer." And clearly, this list is totally random. The fact that Columbus is this high up is laughable. It's where so many generic chains are based for a reason.
And then imagine being bored enough to get mad at the restaurant that thought the original "ranking" was a real thing.
Facebook has been total crap since they stopped making a .edu address required to sign up.

#1 Berkeley is not a college town
#2 vegetarian food is not food
#3 no one gives a damn about cal sports
#4 protesting woke BS is not a sport
#5 homeless people will eat any restaurant leftovers so they can buy more drugs

Had the Cajun Fries and the filet the other night. They’re solid.

The inside is a complete turnaround. Hope they succeed. Looks like they invested heavily. No shortage of employees either!

Did anyone see this? I really don’t get the logic behind alienating yourself like this and doubling down after being called out. https://www.facebook.com/101408378765639/posts/139058418333968/?d=n

My brother is friends with Roy Oswalt, and their kids are close and in a lot of the same stuff in Starkville. Roy has told him that he isn't just the money behind the project, but that he's been heavily involved in every aspect of the concept, design, and build out. I imagine, though, that this facebook post was the result of a young "social media expert" with a twisted view of what drives traffic.

The bakery concept is Georgia Blue, not to be confused with the bad check writing in Vegas, run out on the wedding catering business guy that's part of Taste
