One of those early Leach QBs transferred out there. Think they are trying to go FBS now too.

Ton of baseball talent in TX now, it's like the California of the 80s and 90s. So lot of good teams. Lot less to do in TX too so sports fills that void. I expect a few smaller TX teams to challenge for a natty in the next decade or so, like a Pepperdine, Fullerton, etc. Some coach will get the right mix and make it work.

My wife is from Stephenville and it's been interesting to watch Tarleton's transformation. Particularly in baseball.

I have a good friend in the Dallas suburbs whose kid just committed to Tarleton. He's a 6'4" lefty who's just now starting to put weight on as a junior. 3 pitches and can locate a fastball touches 88, but sits 85. He is dominant in 5A high school ball and legit had a chance to wait until this summer and get an offer from several P5 schools that were courting him.

Tarleton is giving him a full ride plus $. Told him he will start early and by the end of his sophomore year he'll either get drafted or go to an SEC school is the coaches plan. It's like a high end juco. They're going to fill that school up with talented late bloomers/raw players and give some people fits at times. Might be what happened to TX.

Oklahoma lost a game at SE Louisiana last night. Think a couple other SEC teams lost as well. Maybe this NIL think isn't a great thing for the SEC. Football down, basketball down, now baseball looks to be a little down.

We haven't played as well in the big games as we'd like, but damn it's nice to not have any wtf's on the resume to have to make up for. Can't remember the last time we got this far with nothing to apologize for.

We’ll be ok. Got some relief pitching issue to get sorted out, but I’ve got confidence in Parker & O’Connor to get it done. I always figured it would be mid April before this team really started clicking.
