It's finally game week. Tarboro opens up the season at home against 5a Rocky Mount. The vikings defense looked almost uncharacteristically bad at the jamboree. Gave up lots of big plays in the secondary, But with a young group I feel that's to be expected. Knowing craddock and his staff I'm sure they will make adjustments. As for this game, I do believe Rocky Mount keeps it close early but Tarboro pulls away for a two score win.

Yeah this is a question mark game for me personally. Both teams lost a lot but both teams also had really good JV teams last year. Given how tough the non conference is, Tarboro can't afford to start 0-1.

It’s gonna be interesting but I do believe Tarboro will win & win big but they have to play better than what they did in the Jamboree. Kept it real with my son & told them if they play like they did last Thursday then it’s gonna be a long year. Hopefully they come out ready & not BSn. If anyone wants them then this is the year

I just hope people don’t freak out if they drop a few games in the regular season. The ultimate goal is to win the state championship, and regardless of what we do in the regular season - I think we will be in the mix in December.

This team will grow a lot come playoffs. I don't believe any school in the 2A East is gonna face the caliber of competition Tarboro will face especially in the non conference

That’s a fact honestly. This team remind me of the 2021 team also that had a bunch of unknown players that had to come out & prove themselves. That was the year they lost to Rocky Mount 12-0 & boy were the fans mad lol but they went on to win every game & state championship!

Agreed! We are really young and playing some experienced teams, so no one should be surprised if we take some lumps early. I’m with you, I think we’ll be in the mix when it’s all said and done

People also don’t realize that 21 team was playing without 2 of its top 3 RBs the whole season.

80% chance of thunderstorms Friday. Baring improvement in the forecast, I could see this game getting moved to Thursday. Then again, it is NC in the summer time watch it not rain a drop Friday haha.

Yeah North Carolina weather is just so unpredictable. Hopefully it'll change to the point it stays Friday.

I wouldn't necessarily call it embarrassing. Tarboro beats higher classification schools every year. If anybody is to beat them I'm sure they'll celebrate it. I remember when hertford beat Tarboro in 22. You'd swear they won the state championship the way they celebrated afterwards

That's what I'm getting at. There's no doubt that Tarboro is the best team in the area, although NN might chime in on that. But dang, beating them is not the season goal. I told our new coach, who is from Wilson, that Tarboro/SWE is our Fike/Hunt, but it's NOT our season maker or breaker. Told him that it's been the game that has derailed our seasons lately, but we can't treat it like our championship game. I'm sure that if we beat them, the celebration will be over the top. Maybe even some field storming. But I won't be one of them.
