I think Simmons is off a little bit this year. Tarboro beat rocky mount 35-7 but if they played this week he would have RM favored by 3-5.
Heard it was 7-6, they scored in a block punt.
Heard we are having the same struggles we’ve had the last few weeks
Well 1 TD was a blocked punt returned for a TD and the last one they scored there was a lot of subs on the field.. the 2nd one was a legit touchdown but we did drop an easy interception earlier in the drive.
#2, #3, and #9 didn’t play tonight. Not sure how long they will be out.
Ah ok after reading that I feel a little better lol. Hopefully #2,#3 and #9 aren't out an extended period of time. I definitely do agree that that Riverside game will not be a cakewalk. Having said that I saw that gates county scored 44 on their defense, and they are a predominantly run football team (at least they were when we played them last year I don't know about this year). At the end of the day though I'm glad we got the win on to Bertie I'll be able to attend that one.
Wasn’t at the game but I’ll say this, one thing I’ve learned, you can’t compare scores. So many different things go into each game, injures, fluke play, missed interception, so at the end of the day, get the win.
I agree there does seem to be concerns with this team, but thankfully playoffs don’t start tomorrow.
I didn’t believe we could win it last year. We didn’t look good early, we were small, and low on numbers, but I felt it was the coaching staffs best job.
With so much talent on this team, I still trust they can get the kinks worked out.
Remember, we didn’t look like a title team last year in September. We spoiled fans need to trust the process. All this staff has done, I think they’ve earned the right to be trusted. I’m not saying you gotta agree with every move, we all would like a few things different, but at the end of the day, I believe they’ll have us in position to win again, and we can’t ask for much more than that

I thought the defense looked really good whenever they had #30 and #11 at DE. With their speed they were able to get pressure on the QB and we forced 2 turnovers while they were in.
You’re right about the talent. Ecapecially at RB. We have 5 backs that are very good. I’m glad I’m glad not the coaches and having to decide who gets the carries.

Looking back at my comments from last year they look almost identical to some of the ones that I've made this year about this team. I'm guilty I do compare scores lol. This team isn't perfect, but I still believe that our offense is going to be very hard to stop the later we get into the season. And also if you recall after the regular season game against perquimans last season, tarboro really hit their stride on both sides of the ball. Another thing I think we lose sight of is that this team is still really young. We're not going to have another big senior class until next season. And like @TarVikes alluded to, this backfield is deadly and just think about how good they are right now. They are going to be even better as the season goes on and especially next year.
My biggest concern is the kicking game. I feel the defense will be fine. There seems to be inadequate blocking on the outside during punts and extra point attempts. But what do i know? lol
Yeah the kicking game is cause for concern. Layton graduating was a big blow as he was a four year starter.
