I think he very quietly has become the second best QB in the B1G. He has a very good supporting cast, but he has made a lot of plays for the Goofs this year. He was at his best vs. PSU and good vs Iowa last week. He’s only a sophomore.

The other guy to watch is Penix at IU.

Agreed, he is very good. Incredibly accurate.!f he was 6”3-6”4, there would be a lot more national chatter about him.

And he was not a very highly recruited quarterback. Another quarterback who was only three stars and is a true freshman playing for USC just threw for 500 + yards. The recruiting services don't always get it right.

Disagree. Morgan is mediocre and bolstered by a solid OL and NFL level receivers (wonder how a 4 star receiver from Georgia with 20+ offers including UGA ends up at the only school north of the mason Dixon line to offer him...hmmmm).

Penix is good though.

He’s losing some good supporting players, it’ll be interesting to see what he’s like next year!

Who exactly does Minnesota lose on offense besides Johnson and Smith? The entire Oline comes back. All the TE’s are back. They’ve got some serious RB and WR recruits and depth.

Morgan was exceptionally accurate and so was the fourth string, OConnell, from Purdue. 75% of Morgan's game is quick slants and lofting it up to tall, gifted receivers. Doesn't have the big arm. Smart and playing to the talent.

So when you have a short, average arm, very accurate passer, why not blitz? Can't be any worse than your safety getting out jumped or your corner trailing two steps behind.

Slant routes are the perfect antidote to beat a blitz. Morgan is in shotgun, he reads well, releases quickly and is accurate. The chances of getting home on a blitz given those circumstances are remote. Maybe you knock the pass down but there is also a good chance those first down slant completions turn into 70 yard TD catch and runs.

Having an O Line bigger than the Dallas Cowboys doesn’t hurt either.

The three TD throws to Bateman were outstanding throws. The throw to Johnson was good too. Those are NFL -type throws, though Morgan doesn’t have great arm strength.

Their last TD throw came when we blitzed.

Some posted a nice article of Lincoln Riley and his offensive theory at Oklahoma.....and I think we saw parts of this yesterday....these were quick timing routes thrown on simple reads...The ball was out of his hands early.....NU changed things up more after the first quarter , showing one thing then trying at the last second to switch coverages....I dont know but I guess Coach Hank does ,...linebacker Bergan was way out wide covering a wide receiver...and when we did get some pressure Morgan was not so accurate.....but I thought when we did not he made some incredible throws...to some darn good receivers.
I thought Purdue and Minny outschemed us on offense.....something has to change....on the offensive side of the ball.... Fitz the two edged sword....believes so firmly that if you just execute.....but if the other team also executes and with a better scheme well....Fitz has a hard time getting ahead of the curve......

Some of the worst OL I have ever seen were made up of big oafs. Ideally OL have quick feet, long arms, a wide lower half and functional strength. If those qualities come in a 6"6 320 lb package, then even better but it is not a prerequisite.

What if it comes in a 6'9" 400 lb package?
