Steve Young had a great arm and his running ability with his size terrified opposing Defenses, but he didn't have eyes in the back of his head like Montana had and just when you thought you had him, you didn't! That guy could scramble out of the pocket having defenders behind him, and it was like he knew they were there thus the eyes in the back of the head and would still make the play down field even being chased. In all of his time with SF he never fumbled the ball once, sure he had INT's. Montana's Career Rating 92.3 Yards 40,551 TD's 273 according to ESPN. Not bad for a guy that was drafted in the very last round which back then, there were 13
Montana was the 89th player drafted overall in the 3rd round in 1979.

Montana was way overrated. Had one of the best supporting casts ever. Elway sure didn't have a Jerry Rice, a John Taylor, a Roger Craig, a Rathman, etc. in that beatdown.

Lol.....San Francisco had another first ballot HOF qb take his place and how many rings did he bring in?

Was thinking about this on the drive in. What a coup it is for Tanner to have gotten that Senior Bowl invite. Based on how NU played and his stats alone, you'd never put him into that game. Somebody pulled major strings and it just might makes millions of dollars of difference.

You watch him rocket up the boards by looking the part in those practices and having a nice pro day. If he can drop some nice passes in the bucket running vanilla offense against basically no blitzes in that game, just you watch him creep into the conversation and pull a Trubisky.
Pro teams have a big say in who gets invited to that game and there were SEVERAL that are interested in drafting him so they "suggested" he get invited when there was a QB opening. He's going to get a contract it's just a matter of how high he gets drafted.

Lee is extremely accurate.
He isnt good under pressure.
We had a bottom 10 line in all of FBS football, all conferences.
Brett Favre says hi regarding picks. NFL dont care.
Lets see you stand in there and take the hits Lee took then get up and be "good under pressure". Good heavens, he was the most accurate passer we've had under pressure since Brook Berringer. The kid has the tools and the football IQ. He's going to land on a team.

Elway is the GOAT, but Manning is a close 2nd. Brady is awesome but a lot of his success is due to his HC.
Dolphins fan would tell you Marino. I was referring to Brady....5 rings and 7 SB appearances. Hard to argue against GOAT for that. Manning produced until playoff time. Plus he dissed the Huskers after we laid down an ASSKICKING on his Vols so he is dead to me (and he likes to molest women). Rodgers has best all time Passer Rating - by alot.

Steve Young was overrated too. He did absolutely nothing in Tampa!
Steve Young Career Stats QBR 96.8 Passing Yards 33,124 232 TD's Rushing Career Total 4,239 43 TD's. These totals are from just his time with the Niner's according to Fox Sports, however his stats weren't very good while at TB. Tom Brady just passed Joe Montana as the greatest post season QB in NFL history

I was not bashing him. I said he wasnt good under pressure. He wasnt.
Am I inaccurate?
I also said he played behind a terrible line.
Calm down nancy.

Brady is an elite quarterback, but I think having the GOAT Head Coach makes him look better than he really is. Marino was really good too - I'd rather have both of them than Montana.

The point here is that teams know eactly how Tanner has done live. And he's still drawing significant interest.

Yeah the media and "analysts" were really spot on with him last year as well. Everyone knows he'll be #1 pick. Get on board NFL gm's.

Why are you so pissed off that Lee is getting a chance to show what he can do?

So Tanner didn't have the season we had hoped and the program hit the reset button. New coach, new system that doesn't feature his skill set. Tanner could be bitter and talk a little dung on the way out. But he has been a stand up guy (some might use to term professional) on his way out and has spoken well of SF.
I wish him all the luck in the world.

TL's issues are accuracy and decision making under pressure. He has toughness and a superior arm. Not much of an athlete....but neither was the GOAT.

I don't think that's accurate. I'm pretty sure that Joe Montana was a decent runner in his early years.

Seriously. Kid had an awful o-line, WRs who dropped his passes constantly, and a putrid run game to work with. Oh and let's not forget a defense that put them way behind to teams like Minnesota so the opposing DC would pretty much know they could pin their ears back and rush the passer the rest of the game.

So now he's going out and repping the N, saying good things about Frost and the University, and people are swerving out of their lane to **** on him because he couldn't generate a force field around himself and make the ball stick to WRs' hands.

Wow, I guess I watched a different QB than you guys. TL's accuracy was erratic, even when he had time. Sure, our OLine didn't help much, but I will still be surprised if he gets drafted. If he does the team's OLine had better be impeccable.

My prediction is he is gonna be the best QB on the field this weekend. Oh.. he will get drafted and with as well as he show's this weekend will also show just how bad we actually were this year. Hater's gonna be eating some major crow after this weekend! It's truly low class to relentlessly slam someone that has shown nothing but total class since he's been here!

Who's slamming him? I'm giving my honest assessment of what he did this season. He was an erratic QB that made poor decisions at times, and tried to fit balls in windows that were too small.

I would love to see him get drafted, but I don't think he has the tools to stick. I hope he makes it and makes a load of dough.

BTW, do people realize how ridiculous grown men sound when they say stuff like "Haters gonna hate?"

By your logic... Elway was way overrated. When he got his rings... Elway had a just as good of a supporting cast. One of the best running backs of all time, maybe the number one best offensive line of all time, along with a HOF Tight End and good receivers.

I'm going to guess that you are a Chefs fan. Explains a lot of the hate for the GOAT (Elway) on this forum.

More than half of those interceptions come with an asterisk.

Sam Darnold, Josh Allen and Josh Rosen all had a very Tanner Lee-like years.

It's all razor thin. Tanner has just a good a chance as either of the 3.

Very impressive analysis. I wonder what the answer would be if we considered two variables. Or hell, even more!
