Talking about Halloween candy does not make Leach a clown

The clowns are the idiot reporters, announcers and analysts that ask him these questions. Leach is the ring master. He gets to not answer the same dumb questions they ask every other coach. He is able to give the same cliche answers that make up 99% of coach speak like Nick Saban et al to those repetitive questions. Belichick and Popovitch come off more like clowns. I hear "sports talk guys" make fun of their media responses all the time.

They gave themselves away by admitting that Leach, “… went straight from talking about parenting to explaining his thoughts on red zone offense.” He gives you what you ask for. Or not. Your call, reporter dude/dudette.

People are trying too hard. From our fans who care too much about what other people think, to the chicken-head reporters who ask the most contrived questions imaginable.

It's boring to me, but maybe 'funny' to the other chicken-heads I guess. If we ever win big, our sheep fans will think it's funny too.

Leach's funniest stuff is when he does it on his own. The questions from reporters is just too fake for my taste, and also a little condescending, but Leach usually turns it around on them and gives them a little different answer than they want.

I had a buddy that’s a USCe fan text me about it and thought it was awesome. One of my best friends is a huge Bama guy and he sent me this earlier this morning:

“I love your coach. Saw a clip this morning and those are EXACTLY my 4 favorite candies. I’m not paying attention to him talking x and o’s after a game against Vandy, I did rewind it and called Max (his son) down to watch the candy talk, though.”

They ask the questions because Leach is entertaining as hell. I’d guess most coaches would laugh it off or give you a boring response after they just spent the last 4 hours intensely focused on a football game. But he gives a legitimate well thought out answer. Not many people have a mind that works like that.

It’s rare for reporters to get that from anyone, much less a football coach.

But super impressed with his progressive Nerds Clusters take. And I secretly love an Almond Joy too. All in all- 10/10 interview. Would watch again. Really want to know his thoughts on the now wide variety of Reeses products. The cups with the Pieces inside are next level.

That's exactly what he's doing. He's playing 3D chess while everyone else is playing checkers.

The thing I enjoy is that he fields the questions with seriousness and puts thought into the answer. It's very passive-aggressive-smartass. And it keeps him from getting asked questions about why our QB doesn't push the ball down the field more or why we can't get the ball to our best playmakers in space.
