I’ve asked this a couple times with no traction. Hope your luck is better than mine… I just assume he’s done for the year at this point tho.

I'd have to think that Talan, and OJ are just redshirting this year.
Under the Draconian NCAA redshirt rules for baseball, I'm pretty sure Talan doesn't qualify. He pitched in game 29, and even a season ending injury doesn't get you a redshirt year, if it occurs in the 2nd half of the season.

I thought it changed to total games played no matter what time in the year you played. That’s why players could play in bowl games and still redshirt in football unlike the past

Did Talan get hurt at Notre Dame? Or some other time?
At ND. He started the 6th inning of the Sunday game, and after getting his 2nd K of the inning, he was removed from the game for what appeared to be some sort of injury.

To answer the earlier question, the redshirt rule was changed for football, but Div 1 baseball has always had very strict rules. Playing in just 1 game can lose your redshirt status, unless it is due to an injury. If you have a season-ending injury that occurs in the first half of the season, and you have played in less than 30% of your team's games, you are eligible to redshirt. Otherwise you are SOL. At least that is my understanding of the rules.

Obviously that all changes if the 5 for 5 rule is implemented.
