Nervous Lou with another nervous post mid game.
Not a guy I would want in a bunker with me.
The guy really hates young.
This isn’t true . Young played selfish basketball . Why pike didn’t bench him after the second dumb turnover is beyond me ? And why he didn’t bench him after the third ...well enough said . That’s why this can be the most disappointing team in school history

He calmed down towards the end. Definitely played with a head full of steam early and a net negative. He’ll sort it out. Had some great passes and shots too.

He hit some key 3s and has done a good job driving and kicking. Bad turnovers too but no one on this team has been perfect every game. I’ll take them all over any of the other guys !!!
Don't forget he is an awesome defensive guard. He locks down his man & causes general disarray .Turnovers suck, but he hits big shots.Jacob is a key element going forward.

Jacob just tried too hard tonight. Yes he had some turnovers but he hit two threes, had some assists and played good defense. No one is perfect but he played hard as did our entire team. I was very happy to see Nathan and Terry get in for the last minute and their first game action for the season.

I was yelling at my TV so loud to get him out I think they should have heard me at RAC. Only about 35 miles away.

He was out of control early for sure, but the line up with him and Tez together and Geo moving to the 3 just hasn’t worked that well lately in general. Until that line up Michigan State hadn’t scored. Later in the game, I don’t think Pike went with that combo again.

He struggled but I thought pike keeping him in was a tough but very good call. We are going to need jacob he has a lot to bring to the table. Showing confidence in him through some struggles because as you point out he played hard. That’s the key. He played hard. Thats a great job by Pike there

Taking him out for awhile was good, as he was out of control. He did gives us two 3s at key times, and sunk his free throws. I always say when certain things aren’t going well, contribute with something else. Like Harper, who has cooled off from 3, but has picked it up with Defense & Dunks..

Exactly. You guys are so quick to jump on him. Other players go 3 for 15 and crickets.

Tez and Jacob on the floor at the same time is a bit much.
I’d look at that and adjust my rotations so that happens as little as possible if I were Coach Pike.
Both can win you games and in spurts be electrifying, but total body of work together should be looked at.

He is clearly a player that gives you positives and negatives. At the beginning of the year, I thought he was playing a lot more carefully instead of the race down the court and then the battering ram move.
But, maybe it is because he isn't starting he has definitely reverted to the old style. He is just too quick for himself at times. I also through he needed to sit when they were making a comeback.

You are such trash. Beat msu by 30 last night and this is what you're posting. By far the worst poster on this forum.

The most disappointing team in school history isn't one that gonna make the ncaa or even the nit, dumbass.

He needs to dial back his speed. Playing fast is one thing, but when he is constantly 100 MPH's, he is out of control. When he is out of control, his decision making goes to crap.

Towards the end of the game you could see he slowed it all down a tick and things started flowing for him easier.

An in control Young is a huge asset to this team. We need him.

Wow , you can leave the name calling out of this . Young was awful in spurts on the offensive end last night . He did play well on defense and much better offensively in the second half. I am worst poster on this forum ? Perhaps you should check out the ash is smashed legendary thread ! We got the win last night and that is all that matters . Winning is fun .

It was tough to watch last night. At one point, he was responsible for keeping MSU in the game.

Mathis played well and in control.

Harper was in control and got a lot of great catch and shoot looks. Nothing fell. They weren't bad misses. We could have beaten MSU by 40+ if harper wasnt brutal from 3.

Paul stepping out of bounds on the corner 3 is what drives me nuts. Zero reason for that to happen.

My gosh, Harper had some really good looks and I’m happy he took the shots, even though they didn’t go in.
Gotta believe he’s got a 30
Point performance coming soon with his level of engagement.
We win that game easy

I'm happy he did too, but he passed on three catch and shoot chances with the clock running out to dump it to a well guarded Baker. We lost the ball once a shots clock violation. The other 2 times Baker was force to throw a bad shot at the rim to avoid a shot clock violation. Harper needs to be taking that shot even if he is struggling. It is a higher percentage chance than he forced Baker into. I think that his hesitancy to launch at times is affecting his overall shooting.

Pikiell takes the blame for Young's selfish play. His play at the beginning of the year was at a different level....he looked for his teammates and didn't drive into eight guys. He does not think at times but rather allows his emotions to dictate his play. When he does so, he needs to sit and that is up to the coach. Interesting that Mathis got the message.

Lou, you're 100% right

RU had a commanding lead and Young's turnovers (4 or 5 in around 5 minutes) helped Mish St get back in it.

When he hasn't started or played as much he thinks he should have, believe he has an I'll show you attitude & forces everything.

That is all
I counted 7 turnovers thurs night. It seems to me that when Baker was out and Young was getting major minutes he knew that he would get his chances and let the game come to him. Now that Baker is back and his minutes have been cut he is forcing things to make sure he gets his chances.
