Phone calls.... 673 winning percentage, lost in first round and lost in 2nd round multiple times. 2 final fours in a very long career is his biggest accomplishment. 5 year suspension for cheating. Yet people on here would trade Cal for him. Plus, what you posted above. I'm not high on Cal right now but would never want Sampson here. Sometimes some posters just make me shake my head with some things they come up with.
Meh, Kelvin Sampson is 67 years old and Calipari likewise has a ridiculous contract that forever eliminates the potential for Sampson to ever be the head coach at UK. But I would like to play along with your analysis. Please remind me how many of Calipari's wins were vacated both at UMass and Memphis? [I know, "it's never been proven Calipari was responsible."]. 673 winning percentage, lost in first round and lost in 2nd round multiple times. 2 final fours in a very long career is his biggest accomplishment. 5 year suspension for cheating. Agreed. Toppin is trying to develop his NBA range....Toppin, wheeler, Livingston, a lot of these guys need this message
The other can’t shoot period so all 3 options aren’t greatAgreed. Toppin is trying to develop his NBA range....
Hang on. It's coming. Cal will abandon everything and start forcing the ball into Big O or put Big O and Wheeler/Wallace in pick and roll with Toppin flashing to the top of the key for an open 17 foot jumper if the defense collapses on Big O.We don't have shooters. Until Cal understands this and have Wallace, Wheeler, drive and run the offense around Oscar we gonna lose these games. It's that simple. If we ran a few more plays or had Wheeler and Wallace get lay ups we beat Mich St and we look a little bit more better on Sunday. Or we can keep shooting 4-25 from 3s against good opponents. Because he doesn't run good offense to get people open. He should know by now this style of play is for driving and posting.
At least Livingston plays within the team, Wheeler has been shooting when open. I can handle that if it’s a good shot. I agree with Sampson but you can’t never shoot.Toppin, wheeler, Livingston, a lot of these guys need this message
My point was he cheated and got caught. He was under close watch at the time so that shows stupidity on his part by ignoring the rules of the time. Still wouldn't want him as our coach. Did you bother to read all the other points in the two posts which were very valid or just pick out one you could argue on?Phone calls...
You answered your own question, kinda. Don't think he vacated any wins at UMASS and you know as well as anyone both cases were violations by players and had nothing to do with Cal. You really think Cal had someone take tests for a recruit or give jewelry to an agent to pass on to Camby? Besides, Camby even admitted Cal had nothing to do with it and pleaded guilty to the whole thing. Sampson blatantly ignored rules he was already under watch for, big difference. But you and the other poster pick one item from all the things listed by two posters to try to argue with. Still don't want Sampson ever as our coach. I also stated in my post that I'm not real happy with Cal right now but my point was that Sampson is not the solution. But, you just hate Cal, obviously, and will attack a poster(s) who are just giving some actual facts.Meh, Kelvin Sampson is 67 years old and Calipari likewise has a ridiculous contract that forever eliminates the potential for Sampson to ever be the head coach at UK. It's amazing the difference between a real UK fan and a troll like you. It’s amazing the contrast between a real coach and a showman pretending to be a coach.
The only reason Calipari’s *** backwards thinking of “actually that’s old the REAL way to do things is to not care and float in” was because of some insane talent early.
You cannot sustain with a Calipari “ah who cares” model. And goodness did some of our fans buy in like fools.
I have always been against the Calipari hire, for reasons that should be patently obvious. I continue to wish Calipari would go away [and it appears more and more are joining], but Santa has yet to deliver on that request. You answered your own question, kinda. Starting with the returning NPOY.Nah, he’ll just throw AN ENTIRE TEAM UNDER THE BUS IN POST GAMES.
Do you think the Cal Cult will ever come around? They can go with the Tubby fans and follow him at Midmajor Tech State.I remember these types of discussions surrounding Tubby and Joker P. when they began to slide...
There were always folks who were ahead of the curve recognizing mediocrity -- and they were constantly attacked on this site....
Folks who recognized it when it was obvious to everyone...
Then folks who never came around....
He made impermissible phone calls. The horror….My point was he cheated and got caught. He was under close watch at the time so that shows stupidity on his part by ignoring the rules of the time. You obviously didn't read my answer to this same comment above. He made impermissible phone calls. The horror….
Toppin has been KB so far this season. He is what he is. I don’t expect too much from him. But the problem is Cal and media talked him up so much over the summer that you have a kid now who thinks he’s prime time and ready to show out for scouts all season. Oh, and he really loves the camera.
Ownage. Who you're describing is someone who looks at data and cannot do analysis to make the data meaningful. Facts are like data, useless without context. Unfortunately, most people are this way; they do not possess the wherewithal to see the big picture beyond their narrow minded thinking. It's like looking at a final score, and drawing conclusions solely based on the score, or looking at the free-throw count to determine whether a team "got the refs". So dumb.Sampson has made a lot of bad decisions in coaching. Its cost him big. That doesn’t mean he’s not currently one of the best. He also hasn’t been in the college game “for the last 20 years” DOH!
Are you ever able to look at a situation and manage the variables instead of throwing every friggin thing in a vacuum and calling it a day?
You’d be a damn horrible leader of any business, I wouldn’t even hire you to be a manager with your lack visionary skills and inability to understand nuance.
You seeing the big picture is as hard as staring at the sun to see a firefly 3 inches to the left.
probably not...You obviously didn't read my answer to this same comment above.
