Has anyone heard anything about him? Last we heard he was stepping away to take care of his family.
Is he still trying to play college football somewhere? Did he enter the draft?
Just wondering

Best Al post of all time!
Wouldn't it be a kick in the nuts if he took Al's advice, went to Temple and Taj and EJ Warner have a career day against Rutgers? Feel a bit bad for Taj, and there are facts we may never know regarding his leaving. He has talent, and hindsight is always 20/20.

Harris claimed in December to have gotten offers from U.Mass and Miami of Ohio. I wonder what happened to make him decide that his "college journey" is over.

Offers to walk on maybe? Walking on still means paying cash money for the semester of education.

Maybe. Perhaps he thought that having those offers would persuade Schiano to at least give him the chance to walk on here. (He's from New Jersey, so the cost of a semester would be much less here than at U.Mass or Miami of Ohio.) But evidently Schiano wants nothing to do with him. I defended Harris on this board, but it sounds like everyone else was right in saying that he is a head case.

His clock expired. He played 4 years at Syracuse. Started his Covid year at RU. He would have to petition to get that last year back. Part of Taj's issue was maintaining his progress towards a degree to maintain 5th year eligibility. It was discussed here when he transferred from Syracuse that many schools backed off for that reason.

That would be the board meltdown of all board meltdowns.

Hypothetical- if both parties were willing (and not saying they are or would be), could he come back to Rutgers to finish his degree AND to play?

My understanding of the Covid year extension is that it gave eligible candidates another year of competition. The clock starting point stayed intact. So in this case Taj had 5 years to play 5. Where others who redshirted or had medical issues had 5-6 years or more to play 5. Part of the issue is Taj did not red shirt or transfer immediately. He walked away from school and the program.
