Is Rutgers looking at Smith? From the game tape I just watched that kid can really play.
I think in this thread, @RussWood commented that he thinks Smith will ask for his release from his LOI he has with Ole Miss.....Ole Miss HC Andy Kennedy stepped down earlier this month, so technically, Serrel Smith is still a signed and committed player to Ole Miss....
Once Smith does get his release, it would probably be the time for some of these others schools to officially offer Smith, unless he sticks with Ole Miss....so you really get to look at two guards for the trip to see one....Strickland's play during this timeframe only helped, but schools are not going to officially comment they are there to see Smith.
Looks like he has the full package. Strong dribbler and ball handler with BOTH HANDS. Can drive right or left. Can take a shot off the dribble and has good shooters touch. Not as athletic as Corey but quick and crafty and seems to have really long arms which lets him get some blocks. He also plays really tough defense. Decent size for a PG if he's really 6'2. Looks to be an above average passer.
He could be our PG of the future. He absolutely needs to be a priority.

Tai has not mentioned any leaders and has not even started taking visits.
We will see what happens after his season finishes. But sounds like the staff likes him and are working hard.
I thought Mulcahy was the point guard for the future and he is 6' 4''.
Is there a rule against having two quality PGs on roster at the same time?
Mulcahy would get the ball if and when 2019 rolls around, assuming he verbals here.
RU had an assistant coach at Strickland's game tonight. I'm not sure who because I wasn't there
Griffin can do everything, pass shoot create offense off dribble....he is not a PG...more of a swingman....Different type of player, not sure he's more athletic...
I apologize then. I thought he handled the ball primarily.
I will check out both there games a little more. Seeing both, I still prefer Strickland as he is a ball handler and that is what the program needs if Sanders is to leave.
If he comes, Mulcahy gets the ball if he wins the starting job over any other PG on the roster. No one gets handed a starting job.

Serrel Smith had 34 points. I believe Tai Strickland had 10. I'm tryna get confirmation.
Rutgers has prioritized him. Been to his last three games. Last week Strickland told me that he was hearing from Wisconsin and Rutgers the most.
I wonder if that coincides with them getting some kind of concrete answer from Corey...

He's about 175 pounds. Almost all freshman need to add weight/strength, and most do that during their time on campus in the summer. If the S&C guy & nutritionist are good at their jobs.
I don't know how you can jump to any conclusion that someone would be handed anything based on this comment....there is a certain amount of sweat equity for players that takes place on the court, my comment is based on where the roster is and Mulcahy has mentioned he prefers to play at PG.....I don't see him as having an impact off the ball as he would with the ball as a facilitator.....he can be the same player at the wing, making plays but the strength of his game is not being a focused shooter/scorer from three, it's off the dribble, creating passing lanes and finding shooters.
The goal is to get as many playmakers on the court at the same time, that can do more than one thing....
