I just thought this was an interesting nugget of information on him. It's older but I just now read it. Terrence is probably the best shooting guard in the nation but he can't shoot very well (1 of 22 from 3 at the Peach Jam). Almost reminds you of a Diallo type player according to the reading. BUT also, even with his shooting not being great, he could be the number 1 pick in the draft, that's awesome to hear.

247Sports Composite class of 2020 ranking: No. 4

What to know: While Boston has only been ranked as a top-five prospect by one website, Clarke is a consensus top-five recruit in the 2020 class according to the 247Sports Composite, which averages the ratings of the major recruiting websites. Recruiting analysts rave about Clarke’s passing prowess and ability to score from all three levels. He made just 1 of 22 3-point attempts during the 2019 Peach Jam but hit 33.8% of his 3-point attempts during the EYBL regular season. In September, 247Sports analyst Jerry Meyer tabbed Clarke as a potential candidate for the No. 1 pick in the NBA draft if he continues to improve.

We can't afford any of our recruits to be duds since it looks like Brooks is the only returning player we will have.

lol Terrence Clarke is nothing like Diallo. Diallo could jump at the time and that was about it.

Clarke's dribbling, finishing, and overall offensive creativity give him the ability to score plenty whether he shoots well from deep or not.

Anthony Edwards shot 29% from three averaging about 19 a game...Think Terrance is more like that.

Obv he does need to improve his selection and consistency from outside but it's not like he "can't shoot".

I'm more concerned he improve to be a 80% free throw shooter than a 35% 3 point shooter. With his skillset, he'll get to the whole at will but he has to make it count when he gets fouled.

Crazy that seemingly every year UK seems to be get the best shooting guard or small forward that can't shoot. Not that I have an issue with Clarke because he has more game than the other guards who fit that mold but damn man....

We knew this. This is why I say we have to get IQ and Nick back or it's going to be another bad year to Kentucky standards.

This class isn't as good as UK fans on here think.

Allen , Askew , Boston are all going to shoot around 40% from 3 IMO . Clarke , like Brooks will be more of a 33% type guys but Clarke is a good shooter just not great. He isn't Briscoe . Diallo is a good comparison as Diallo made 36% of his 3's at UK . People try to act like he couldn't shoot but his time at UK proved otherwise . Briscoe was a bad 3 pt shooter . Turner was a bad 3 pt shooter . We haven't had many guys who were really horrible like that though.

Doesnt matter. Hes better at getting to the hole than all 3 put together. Look at Zion Williamson at Duke. Fox at UK. Wall at UK. Great players will get to the basket if they want to whether they can shoot it or not. Shooting the 3 well just opens up the opportunities and makes it easier.

Realistically he can be in the mid 30s, I'll be ecstatic.

I just hope all these new players are ready to commit to playing defense, cause that is what it will take to get them on the floor for extended playing time!

Ok, you say it "doesn't matter" then later say "shooting the 3 well just opens up the opportunities and makes it easier." Seems to me that it does, in fact, matter if it makes things easier, which was exactly what I was talking about in the first place. Stands to reason that no matter how good you are at driving the rock, the lanes are bigger if the defense doesn't swag down in the lane on you.

Not sure who the "air pair" is unless you're talking Jordan and Pippen. If so, for some reason, I've never heard of them referred to as that.

But the initial post, comparing to Briscoe, Diallo and Hagans (3 of the worst shooting guards weve had in a while) makes it seem like he will struggle to get to the hole like those 3 did.

Theres a dramatic difference between easier and difficult. Those guys you mentioned had difficulty getting to the basket because they were poor shooters who's slashing abilities were average at best. Clarke has the ability to get to the basket when he wants because his slashing and ball handling are elite. Wall and Fox struggled with their shot and lived at the basket/free throw line.

Me saying itll be easier is like me saying it'll be easier for Clarke to dunk on a 9 foot goal as opposed to a 10 foot goal. Doesnt mean he needs it. Diallo and Hagans NEEDED to keep the defense honest to free up space to operate inside.

You are right, Wall and Fox didn't have a great jumper but put up good numbers and they attacked the rim. Now, tell me which one is the better player, Wall, Fox or Clarke? Is Clarke's speed equal to Wall's and Fox's? I personally haven't seen faster players with the ball than those two. What about attacking the rim, which one of the 3 would you prefer? Also, is Clarke a dog, like Wall was? I'm just searching trying to figure this kid out, can't pay a lot of attention to stars and rankings. What intangibles do you think Clarke has that the other two discussed do/did not? Thanks

Yes. he is as elite as either of them at this stage.
Obv not as fast. But he is quite a bit longer than both and plays a completely different position.

Clarke’s handle, timing/IQ, and finishing ability are def all comparable to where Fox and Wall were at this stage. And again he’s taller and longer arms for finishing.

Just curious how much have you read up or watched him?

Not just highlights against hs Comp, but have you seen the film of him at the gym in New York playing with the pros?

trae young, Donovan Mitchell and Carmelo doing all these things you see in his hs highlights.

It’s pickup but you can without a doubt tell he belongs and stands out even.

Donovan Mitchell has personally taken him under his wing for awhile now, and I feel like the basketball community in general (based off the networks he’s already in/who knows him/follows him/the pros he trains with) have already recognized him as having ELITE abilities and future potential and realize he’s only getting better.

I honestly haven’t been as excited about a player since Wall.

Man, you've got me looking forward to seeing what he can do here. No, I haven't watched anything other than the typical youtube, ballislife, mixtape, stuff. I did see one freeze frame with Clarke and Young in it but for some reason I didn't watch or don't remember where. I don't have access to the premium stuff if that's where its at. Seems kinda weird with the UK/UL rivalry that he's taken up with Mitchell.

Kids got the IT factor/ALPHA/Confidence like Wall and Fox. He will be absolutely terrifying next season to opponents. I'm very excited for him and BJ Boston... as excited as I was for a recruiting class since the BAM Monk and Fox class. I'm already counting down the days. This team is going to be so athletic

Not sure if that link will work and obv it’s pick up game but you can tell at 17 years old he belongs.

far as Donovan Mitchell he discussed it in one of those mini documentary’s on him but yes it will be weird when we beat them again. They talk like every day.

Mentioned he also works out with Jaylen Brown from the Celtics up in Boston a good bit too
