Currently we're at:
Scout - 42 (includes 3-star Simmons AND 0-star Hayek)
247 - 38 (DOES NOT include 3-star Simmons; Hayek 0-star included)
Rivals - 41 (DOES NOT include 2-star Simmons; Hayek 0-star included)

Simmons is at least a 3 star level player. He actually might be one of the first defensive players to see the field.
He's 3-star on 247 and Scout. Ridiculous that he isn't here (same with Vokolek...head-shaking IMHO).
Not even close to the level of "diamonds in the rough" or "hidden gems" in Flood's last few classes. Plus, this kid is a 3-star per the 2 services NOT named "Rivals."

Diamond in the rough? He has offers from Tenn, VT, Miss St, Pitt, WVU...
Those offers tell a bigger story than how many stars some recruiting "specialist" gave him.

First of all no one is "bashing" anyone. Second I'm not too worried about what some kid thinks who just got a free ride - perhaps undeservingly considering his skills may not be commensurate with the level of play he will face. I'd be happy too if I were him but should we ? It's funny how most on here knocked Flood for his recruiting but now embrace the DisASHster for doing essentially the same job.
Happened all the time the last few years, but some felt justified in doing and will still defend their behavior to this day. IMO, it is never right.

Had a preferred walk-on offer from Alabama. That is nothing to snicker at considering Alabama only recruits bluechip talent. The fact Bama thought enough of him to recruit him and then tell him he could be on scholarship in a year two if he performs, tells you the kid can ball.
You cannot be serious. Flood would have been lucky to land a recruit of Simmons caliber.

THIS is part of the advantage of having 5 players in the Super Bowl. Not only can they have a good chance to make it and make it big in the NFL, they can play NOW and get noticed instead of being 2nd/3rd string with the big boys and perhaps never seeing the field.

If you are chalking Simmons up as a typical Flood level recruit, then you are too uninformed about this years's pool of recruits to have an opinion worth taking seriously.
Have you looked at his offer list? You are waging this war over the wrong recruit. This is a very nice late pickup.
