Savannah Stevenson’s three-run homer sparked an 11-run first inning as the Richlands Blue Tornado trounced Eastside for an 18-4 non-district softball win on Wednesday.
Emma Crawford also homered for the Blues (2-0), who finished with 21 hits. Chloe Newberry, Kaitlyn Baldwin and Ginger Short each went 4-for-4 in the win with Newberry and Baldwin driving in three runs apiece.
Emily Moore homered for Eastside.

Gate City 10, Licking Valley (Ohio) 7
For the second straight day, the Gate City Blue Devils played a high-scoring game.

The Blue Devils erased an early 6-2 deficit to collect a victory in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes tournament at Tennessee High’s Tod Houston Field.
Drew Meyers and Jon Compton each had two hits for the Blue Devils (2-1), with Meyers collecting the go-ahead two-run single in the top of the sixth inning.
Gunnar Carpenter had three hits and Logan Bragg drove in three runs in the loss.
GIRLS SOCCER
Gate City 5, Graham 2
Callie McMurray scored all five of Gate City’s goals as the Blue Devils earned a win over the Graham G-Girls.
Jamie Watts added three assists for the Blue Devils. Kathryn Perdue scored both of Graham’s goals.
BOYS SOCCER
Ridgeview 15, (1A) Grundy 0
Alex Fleming scored three goals as Ridgeview rocked Grundy.
Grant Vitatoe and Gabe Counts added two goals apiece. Goalkeeper Jesse Griffits posted the shutout.
