Tennessee playing with Iowa State is another knock on Pope not having his team ready to execute and play. For his sake he better hope Iowa state pulls it together.
Watching the Tenn. / Iowa St. game just verifies to me how out of shape UK was this year, our terrible conditioning program needs to improve drastically.
DEFENSE requires conditioning and that could be part of our poor defense for two years under Pope.
Our draw and matchups really didn’t matter. We weren’t good. We were lucky to win a game. Extremely lucky. I’ll not tolerate any Otega Oweh slander ever again levels of lucky.
UConn MSU was a great game with 2 great coaches. Just a different level of basketball.
I think Iowa State just saved us the humiliation of repeating last season.
I’m not watching this game though. Someone explain to me how it’s playing out. Iowa State not being allowed to beat the bejesus out of tennessee in their traps like they were us or Tennessee just handling the physical play a lot better?

Things that have stuck out to me -- note I was watching MSU UConn for the most part. I can only watch 1 game at a time, I like to get really invested in what's going on and cant enjoy it properly if attention is split.
Momcillvic only 1 3 -- game can turn around fast if he heats up
UTs guards have been good as expected, bigs better than I remmber them. As an example, Carey intercepted a pass and then took it coast to coast for a dumk. I was like wtf was that.
Lastly, no Jefferson. Not having an all american is fine when you're facing Poop's lack of game prep, but against a team with actual coaching, it hurts.

Unsurprising -- UT is all about effort (and clunky offense. TBQH, playing Poop's quitters and exerting their will on them probably did not do ISU any favors-- seemed like they lost a bit of their edge.
Iowa State has too many headbanded players to win anything significant
Iowa St cant make fts or rebound lol. I have Tennessee on the elite 8 BTW. Still crazy it's going to happen. Unless a minor miracle.
Going to feel so disgusting cheering like a diehard UConn fan but that's where we are now.
