They didn't die by the 3....they died by the FT. The 3-point shot is a low percentage shot, and Bama shot a low percentage (25%)--it happens--even to good teams.

EVERY team should be able to hit 70% from the line....even on a bad day. Bama shot 44% ......44% from the charity stripe is a pretty rare example of underperformance for an otherwise good team. They shot nearly as well from the field at 43.5%.

25% from the 3 point line would have been good enough if Bama was just a little better than horrible from the FT line. Maybe Saban needs to take over FT shooting practice.

Both contributed. Could easily say trade 10 missed 3s for 43.5% on 10 2 pointers—about 8 or 9 points from 2 would have allowed 44% from the FT line to have been good enough.

They will need to be playing their best, but I think USC can definitely upset Gonzaga. The length and athleticism of USC is historically what Gonzaga and teams constructed like them struggle with. Particularly since they didn't face teams like that in their conference play and haven't much yet in the tournament.

Zags have their most athletic team by a mile this year but would love to see USC punk Timme.

For sure, but that isn't saying much. USC is definitely more athletic, and they are the 2nd longest team in college this year to FSU. They have the highest rated defense of all remaining teams according to Kenpom, and they played the 3rd highest SOS of teams left. Should be a good game.

I thought Baylor was the only team that could beat Gonzaga, but USC sure looks like they could prevent the Zags from getting to the final four. Should be a good Tuesday game.
