Hardly, as we have seen once the Mid Majors get a fair chance...UMBC much? Nevada much? Loyola much? Why Not MTSU? WKU? Boise? Who did they beat by 30 something during the year? Loyola? ODU? South Dakota? Nebrask?PSU? Hate deserving teams left out. Maybe they get on a run... see for example, Cuse?

A 128 team NCAA Tournament IMO would ruin it.
It makes the regular season completely meaningless for every Top 50-60 Program and IMO ruin college basketball.
It will wreck TV Ratings and Attendance and the Networks will never go for it.
But hey it's fair for Boise State.

San Diego State and Nevada showed they belonged. Why not Boise?

I agree with you, except that I think Loyala-Chicago would have made it as an at-large.
Fellas what you're proposing is turning upside down an event that arguably is now Americas # 1 sporting event right up there with the World Series and Super Bowl to make about 6 mid major programs a year happy.

On the other hand what makes the tourney great is not Duke v Cuse but UMBC over Virginia, Loyola making its run, David over Goliath.
If the tournament ever expands (and I really hope it doesn't) it will only be to help power conferences. The move from 64 to 68 did nothing to help the little guy. Instead now two conference champions don't even get to play in the "real" tournament, and the extra at-large spots go to power conference teams.
Interesting RUnit. That is one of the things I liked about him. He still has that "grew up in a rough neighborhood" aspect to his voice. I LOVED it when he said, "When your Mom's in the audience, you can move mountains." I felt like I was listening to a guy who had really been there and done that. Even though his career was checkered (close to 3-D chess), I always felt bad for him on that timeout call. So for me, it was great to see him back and providing real insights.
Syracuse may be the Longest Team I have seen in a long time...everyone of their players has LONG arms. All that Length in a 2-3 is dangerous. But, do they have the offense?

As the coach for USC said....in this system all that matters for a P6 is what you do before your league play and for a mid major what you do in your tourney.
You could expand the tourney. ..Add early games at the home court of some teams before you get down to 64 and go to regional sites.... But, it would kill the NIT.
Part of American sport is being good at the right time. Best 2/3 for Rock-Paper-Scissors? That’s a good way to determine the “season”. But part of a season in sport is showing you have done something from the start and made it better at the finish. That’s why there’s the tournament and not about just Ws and Ls. Does that mean there can be a team that had a great year but lost their conference tournament? Yes but if you deserve a shot to be a national champion and you play in a weak conference, you have to perform in every game at the end of the season. Can’t take a single one off. UMBC didn’t, they won all their tourney games and that’s why they got in.
So if you play in a “strong” conference you can be mediocre more than half the time and still play for a championship.... makes sense...
The ratings arent a factor like the NBA or NFL....you cannot go wrong with Loyola Michigan at 6PM and Duke/Kansas winner vs Texas Tech/Nova winner at 845PM next Saturday night.
I think he’s a solid coach. He should have fouled with 10 seconds left. He was also clearly frustrated at the end of the game and he didn’t do himself any favors in the post game interview when he acted like he thought the reporter was crazy for asking a valid question.

AD needs to ask Leonard some questions. Did he lose his thought process in last 20 seconds??
he embarrassed himself and looked like a turd in the post game interview, acting like he had no idea what she was talking about. His players simply had a brainfreeze but its up to Hamilton to rely that information either yelling from the sidelines or during the previous free throw stoppage or in the last timeout that they had.
Just a case of Hamilton refusing to accept his players and him made a major mistake in the closing seconds and not liking it being brought up right after the loss.
My opinion:
He's a good coach that made a major blunder and don't want to admit it right after a loss.
I think Duke has a better chance of beating those turds from THE Nova, so I'm rooting for them. I don't think Kansas has "it" this year.
