Thought the Devil's were in for a good season but looks like things have turned south. On the reverse, thought Murphy was done for with injuries, but they've seemingly turned the corner. Always a good game between these old rivals. My pick is Dogs by 21, 35-14.

Will Swain come out with a point to prove after a subpar showing at home against Hayesville? Will Murphy maintain the momentum they're building in conference play or will there be a hangover effect after a huge win at Big Oaks?
Murphy had a very key player get hurt in the 2nd half against Robbinsville, hopefully he's cleared to play Friday.

I think Murphy will come out on top by a couple of scores. Is Hayesville better than people think? They have been down for so long, are teams just overlooking them?
Swain offense was change back to the veer last week and moved the ball very well but our D couldn't stop the run or pass. Its been a roller coaster of a season for Swain and hope they can put it together to win 1 conference.
Swain by .....I'll take it.by one. No joke.if this years Devil's don't have someone to step up and take the leadership of this team for the first time in my sixty one years that a Swain won't win a conference game.
Maybe I watched a different game, but I didn't think we moved the ball very well at all last week and the score showed it. It's been a long year and still games to grow and learn. I think our defense is better than Robbinsville this year, but if Murphy throws anything better than Hayesville I'd expect to see a score in the 49-14 range.
Murphy has the best passing game in the conference this season from what I've seen. It took #14 and the receivers a few games to find their footing but they've played really well the last month.

Never thought I’d say this. But I miss Swain being able to compete for the SMC. I still consider Swain Murphys biggest rival and hope that one day they make it back to what they used to be. But this Murphy team is starting to click it’s passing game. They have started opening up the offense a little more each game. I think the Dogs win big if they have their heads right and are not looking ahead to Andrews.
Who knows what to expect at this point, Swain pass defense looked terrible friday night. A bit of a side note for this game is that after Tuscola's game friday night they are undefeated and they are averaging 42.75 points a game, while Swain on the other hand I am not sure if they have scored 3 offensive td's maybe once or twice this year. Come on Devils lets put it all together this week and at least make it interesting. Two years ago during the covid season Swain went in with 18 players to the murphy game and was tied at halftime. THERE IS HOPE
Well better then it was but still no were it should be. Swain offenses the week before we had 40 yards of offense and last week 168 yards
Feeling optimistic here in Bryson city! Have faith that the maroon machine can get it rolling against the bulldogs. Is the game going to be live streamed? Idk if we can make it tonight with the flu going around and all these grand babies.

Thanks, I just know some places we travel to don't allow livestream like Robbinsville and Andrews this year. I think my husband had decided to go, he hasn't missed a game in years. If there is no livestream I will get updates through him.
I've wondered the same thing. My wife has been sick all week and we couldn't go. Was hoping to watch it.

Possibly but I just don't think Murphy has been sharp, three redzone trips now that they've either threw a pick, fumbled or blown up with penalties. And Swain is playing their tails off right now, they have all the momentum

4 or 5 turnovers (three or four in the redzone) and a dozen penalties later but Murphy finally guts it out. That's another Hayesville game for Murphy in the sense that it was FAR from pretty, but a win is a win and they'll take it.
Swain played inspired ball after their QB went down and were good upfront on defense, as advertised. Swain had their fair share of turnovers as well and were in this one all night. Swain generated some good pressure but #14 for Murphy was just off his game tonight, missed a lot of open recievers and just uncharacteristically sloppy with the ball. Hopefully just an off night for him because he'll to have to get back to the level he was at the last couple weeks for Murphy to have any chance against Andrews next week.

Murphy better clean up the mistakes or Andrews will embarrass them next week. Andrews is very sound and doesn’t beat themselves. If Murphy plays a good clean game, then next week could be a game for the ages. I look for a packed house 80s and 90s style next week!

Late reply but I think the refs at the rville-andrews game were a little flag happy. That was the first time I’ve really seen Andrews have ANY penalties, same with robbinsville
Your right. The Cats have played a clean game all season with no more than a couple penalties a game. I know this was a big game with a lot of emotions but I’ve never seen this team get that many

That’s the thing. Gotta keep composure in the big games as well. Penalties will play a big part from here on out. Cats need to keep it that way. Take all the help you can get.
They were very disciplined and well coached when they beat Mitchell. Almost no penalties.
