Michigan (I know not sparty) gave up the home game last time we were in this, we played 1 game vs sparty this year (at RU) so we are due to go there, but I think we would be due to play them 2x so this is probably us giving up a home game :(

The best we can hope for is giving up a home game every other trip to MSG. This is in line with that ("home" against Wisconsin, "at" Michigan)

You can't complain about RU not scheduling quality road games or not playing in a neutral site game or playing in one of the 8000 Thanksgiving holiday season games that no one can find on TV...

OR

Playing a neutral site game less than a hour from campus where RU should have more fans....

AND

RU is not where we stood 3 years ago with no NCAA bids and no winning seasons. We don't need to prove how tough RU is at the RAC....we have already taken apart Sparty 2 years in a row at the RAC.

RU gets a neutral site game, at a great venue (MSG) on a Saturday afternoon and a likely quality or ranked opponent. And it counts as a neutral game on the schedule, which we can certainly use.

I don't see the downside to this whatsoever.

Just play an OOC big name team there instead. Same concept but we don't lose a home conference game. It will also help our OOC SOS

This would count as “neutral site” for Net purposes, right?

I’m guessing that most (but not all) those complaining about this game have NOT been to an RU game in a mostly packed garden. It’s a great experience!
Play there every year with it being a home game every other year? Sounds phenomenal!
I was at the msg Michigan game and aside from losing it was a spectacular environment. I was looking forward to playing msu there the following year but was Covid canceled.

I call it stupid saturday
The players get to play at The Mecca! The wrestling team loves the exposure and opportunity to win in a great environment as well. Win-win all around!
(Ah yes except for some fans. But it’s okay, really, some fans can’t or won’t make it while other fans will be able to make this whereas they couldn’t make it if game was at the RAC. Allll goood!)

I don't see the giving up a home game when it could be a neutral site and still get a home court edge with the fans....you can easily get 10K RU fans on a Saturday to MSG, tighten up the resume for NCAAs and get out of the routine once conference play starts.

Maybe it is the Mecca to you and me......is it the Mecca to a 18-22 year old?

They don't know Walter Berry or Pearl Washington or Patrick Ewing or Mark Jackson or John Starks. They definitely don't know Bernard Kindg or Clyde Frazier or Willis Reed. I am guessing they also don't know Pat Cummings or Kenny Walker or Ken Bannister.

I remember Jim Karvellas more from Cosmos games. John Condon is up there with Bob Shepherd for me (many will kill me for that statement).

We just had a new employee start about 2 weeks ago. During my orientation with her we got to talking about sports. She commented her dad used to play in the NBA. She was floored when I said her dad must be Ken Bannister who played for the Knicks.

These kids definitely know it’s an NBA arena in the “greatest city in the world”. I strongly believe these young man are ecstatic to play a game at the garden.
They only get 40 home games in the B1G. Playing at the RAC is a big deal. I'd be very curious what someone like Geo Baker thinks about the topic.

I’d bet big he’d be all about playing 38 home games at the RAC + moving 2 home games to MSG + moving 2 away games to MSG vs 40 home games at the RAC.
When the players are given this option I’m thinking about 90%+ choose option A.
