I was disappointed until I saw North Carolina load the bases only to pop up and strike out. I hate losing to Georgia, but they played well today, except for pitching.
They made two errors. A lot of teams would have beaten them today. They just have our number. Losing to a team 6 times in a year…sure they have talent but there is some luck thrown in there

2 for 11 with RISP, should not matter when you hit 6 HRs and score 12 runs. The bullpen is an abomination. Buy BOC made a terrible pitching change. And it cost his over-thinking butt.

It was obviously because Davis was beginning to labor (and over 30 pitches) and they also want him available for at least another game. It was left on left and Burns had given up almost no HR this year, so the move made good logical sense... Just didn't work out
Burns had given up 4 hits in 2/3 innings of work against UGA before today.

I must’ve misunderstood who the announcers were talking about then. I thought they said he wasn’t supposed to be in the lineup today.
I think they were referring to him playing 3rd for Phillips but you may be correct. He did have 18 HRs going in and hit two today, the last being the NAIL.

The actual big letdown today was TV. When you hand your ace a 7-0 lead and then tack on 5 more you should never expect to lose.

He's been great in almost every game, but we really needed him to give us 6 or 7 strong innings today and he just didn't do it. We knew what our bullpen was coming in, but I didn't expect that from TV.

I would have liked to see what happens if Davis was left in and mound meeting was just to settle him down and get refocused. The hbp was just a high inside pitch, not Really a hbp
I have seen use ride it out with Ben Davis in that situation multiple times this year and it has basically never ended well.

He’s capable of pitching out of that. I don’t think Burns is. But it’s all hindsight. I liked the way Davis handled them in the seventh.

Players have to make plays. The teams in the Sec that are still playing are all good teams. Yes, we have been beat by most of them but it isn't like we are getting beat by poor to average teams.

Hope we win and force a game 3.

I'm not arguing that Burns was the right answer (based on the outcome, he clearly wasn't), but Davis was at the end of his rope.

A lot of people focus on the "third inning" thing with Davis, but inning count isn't really the issue. The more relevant factor has been his pitch count. By that point, he had already reached the threshold where his stuff was starting to back up, and you could see he was laboring .

If you want to criticize the decision to go to Burns, that's a fair discussion, but the notion that Davis should have stayed in ignores what was happening on the mound. He was done.
