Sumrall dustances himself from Stoops

This is probably the thing that could happen for Brad. He’s a really solid coach but got stagnant here with Mark and his hands on everything approach. I wish him the best as long as it isn’t against us.

That shows exactly why we should have moved off Stoops long ago. 1 top 10 win in 13 years is pathetic. We have numerous opportunities for that every year and pulled it off one time. He built the program up, but we needed to move on when he took it as far as it could go under him.

We'll see how White does at Florida...I expect him to be very solid...maybe not elite defensively.

I always like Stoops defenses for the most part. One thing I always wondered why White got such a pass from fans while Stoops took most of the bulltets for poor defensive performances as the poor pass rush after Josh Allen left UK. White's position group as DC was still OLB and his development of Jordan White, JJ Weaver, the Wade twin, Fearby, etc....was just a problem. I was stunned JJ Weaver turned out as 'meh' as he ended at UK...and White was his position coach for all 5 years.

UK was able to develop Dline, quite well at interior LB and had a few DBs play in NFL....but what was missing in the defense was a weak edge pass rush from 2018 to the end of Stoops...which is mostly on White....not Stoops IMO.

White will need to kick it up a quite a bit at Florida....luckily Sumrall has a defensive experience to assist him.

White should do better just simply because of the talent he should be able to get at Florida. IMO.
