I'm not sure if my opinion on Suh is accurate or shared by others but I'm kinda under the impression he worried more about money than production. If i'm wrong I want to know.

He may have worried about money in the sense that he required for a team to pay him what he deserved for his dominance in the NFL. He also immediately donated millions back to Nebraska before his biggest pro deals had ever even come.

To me, SUH is truly a beast, ambassador, and all-time Husker Great.

He is also arguably the best Husker player ever. Period. At any position. He also should have won a Heisman....but you're a bigger fan of him than I am if you think he's a first ballot NFL HOF...which is what the OP asked.

voters like stats.
seemingly, he may need more.
but david may be our most heralded nfl player by time its all done, and if not 1st ballot its just maybe because its ‘quiet’.
the kid does nothing but wrap up and put dudes on the ground. one of the purest, natural tacklers ive ever seen.

All I remember of Suh in the NFL were those stupid cheap fouls that he got more than anyone else. He hurt his team more by doing this. He cannot be a first round ballot. A first rounder would not have been that undisciplined. And yes, he was one of Nebraska's best, if not the best, to ever play for DONU.

Bob Brown was the best to ever play at Nebraska but Suh is up there. Although many will not want to hear it, Lawrence Phillips as well. Many, many great players over the years and that is why we are still fans through many recent losing seasons.

I wasn’t answering the OP’s question. I was answering yours, which is what I quoted.

It seems we agree on greatness - but not on money.

C’est la vie.

Pretty tough to name the goat for the Huskers. Rich Glover, Dave Rimington, Johnny Rogers and the names all ready mentioned all have to be included when talking about the GOAT for the Huskers. Yes there are other names also that need to be included in addition. Sorry but while it can create a good discussion and bring up great memories there is no totally correct or incorrect answers here.

Neil Smith is twice the talent of Suh. Suh is greatly hyped because of his physical power Great player but NFL hall of fame wise he is borderline.. NFL tank for me are 1 Bob Brown 2 Neil Smith /3 Will Shields 4Roger Craig 5 Mike Minter 6 Mike Rucker 7 Irving Fryar 8 N. Suh 9 Jimmy Williams 10 L David 11 Brian Davis Washington Redskins. 12 Tom Rathman 13 Andra Franklin 14 Cory Sclessinger 15 Wille Harper 16 T Williams 17 Richie Incognito 18 Dominic Raiola. 19 Dave Rimmington 20 John Parrella 21 Mike Rozier 22 Mike Brown 23 Aron Taylor 24 Brian Washington Ny Jets 25 Ajman Green / And two more like LP and Randy Greggory had top 5 potential but let off the field issues destroy them. Of all the above Only HOF caliber ones Bob Brown / Neil Smith /Will Shields / Irving Fryar/ Roger Craig/ on the bubble/ would be Mike Minter N Suh Tom Rathman

the question was 1st ballot Hall of Fame

there have only been 6 Def Tackles 1st ballot hall of fame inductees - posted are their
weighted career approx value (per profootball ref) - # pro bowls - # 1st team all pro teams

Bob Lilly 125 - 11 - 7
Joe Greene 130 - 10 - 4
Randy White 131 - 9 - 7
Reggie White 179 - 13 - 8
Warren Sapp 124 - 7 - 4
Merlin Olsen 135 - 14 - 5

Suh 87 - 5 - 3

of the three metrics listed - Suh's highest of any of the three is lower than any of the others lowest value

Suh's HOF monitor score currently is 73.75 -- the average hall of fame inductee value is 100 - by this metric he would be, at present, a below average hall of fame inductee

unless they lower the bar he likely is not a first ballot inductee

In my opinion is Suh is a 1st ballot HOF. I seen the question and read it just fine. Suhs always been a big time talent. I know the last couple years he’s been a bit down on his stats but let’s face it, the man is constantly doubled teamed. And some of these old timers stats came a little easier for them then it does for the players in now days game. So much faster and stronger players. Not to mention smarter players and schemes.... Go get em big man...GBR

He may well deserve first ballot, but I doubt he gets it because he is pretty universally reviled outside of Husker fans and the NFL teams he's played for.

Sapp got in first time, and he had all sorts of controversy that surrounded him in his career.

That said, I don't think he gets in first time. Sapp had almost 40 more sacks from the same position. Even if Suh played 3 more years, I don't think he gets 40 sacks.

SUH has played in the NFL what, 10 years. He has a hand full of questionable actions while in the heat of battle. The man is a beast and the OL will do whatever they have to, to try and stop him from making a play so he fights back. He is a first ballot HOF'er, if not it will be because ppl don't like him, plain and simple.

Also, were you around to watch the NFL in the 60's, 70's and 80's? OL and DL used to beat the heck out of each other and penalties were not routinely called back then. Granted it was a different game back then and the players weren't as big as they are today. There were plenty of players that have done far more than SUH and are in the HOF. I'm certainly not excusing any bad intentions he inflicted but SUH is the man and he will get in.

Lastly, Roger Craig should be in the HOF and it's a travesty that he is not. But I do believe he will be soon.

GO BIG RED!!!
