Have you ever considered the journey a plastic straw has to take from Oklahoma all the way to a turtle’s nose in the ocean?

somewhat related ... we just got a notice in Edmond that the company that does our recycling will no longer take glass and plastics that aren’t coded as a 1 or a 2. They say it it burns more carbon to recycle these things than it saves.

just wait until you have to drink your beer out of plastic bottles ...

Skip the reusable straw and just start drinking out of dirty ashtrays. I can't even fathom the amount of growth going on in a straw stored in you cozy, warm pocket.

I only drink out of a straw if the cup has a lid on it and I only drink with a lid on it if the drink it take out.

I used to never get straws until @mseabolt explained to me how restaurants wash their cups. Plus I now have decided I really hate sea turtles.

FWIW, my mom's dentist told her that tea and coffee stains could be minimized with drinking straws. But yeah, I rarely use them.
