Is that the only thing you took from the Bible?
No. I’m down with it. Just think it’s outright hypocrisy. I believe Jesus even used that word to describe people that use prayer and offerings and what not to bring attention to themselves. He says they have their reward, does he not?

I believe studying the Bible is difficult to understand at times. I have to rely on smarter people than me to help me understand what I read.

We can, indeed, pray everywhere, as long as we are praying for the right reasons. Praying for prideful reasons only receives earthly rewards.

I have no qualms with the good book and it’s adherents. But yes, public prayers and engaging in spiritual activities before others are strictly forbidden by Jesus himself. So it’s a bit odd.
I hesitate to talk religion here but I have to correct wrong doctrine. Jesus did neither if those things. He said not to pray for the sake of looking good/spiritual to men. There is a huge difference. I have never gotten the impression that TT prays or demonstrates his faith to impress people. I absolutely believe he does it as a ministry, as an example. Ok, now I'm done discussing religion here.

You're taking that far too literally. To prove my point, Jesus prayed in front of others often. He didnt retreat to an actual closet. Now I'm done.

It makes us look so small to speak so negatively about a man, a very decent, God loving man that would certainly lay down his own life to save yours. Get past whatever jealousy lives in your own mind that would prompt these awful comments about him. I’m 64 and proud to say I look up to Tebow.

Newsflash....SEC football fans do not care about basketball wins and losses on an equivalent level. Save the "suck it Tebow" for after Week 2 this fall.

Tebow is the real deal. He may not like UK when it comes to sports but who gives a flip. I’m a Christian myself but can’t stand duke or uofl and hope nether win another game. He didn’t grow up a UK fan, big deal, he is as good of a guy as they come. Have heard him speak at my church more than once and is as down to earth as they come. Not many men can face the temptation he has and stay true to his values and beliefs but he has and I respect him immensely for it. I couldn’t do it and wasn’t faced with near the quality he was daily.

Same people who demonize TT for being “holier than thou” are likely same ones who defend a pro athlete for making death threats to the mother of his child. Sad world.

If you don’t like TT, let it be solely because he played for UF and kicked our asses year in and year out, not because his beliefs or values.

the fact they were up 31-7 in the 3rd and he’s still dripping back trying to pile on us is what made a big hit satisfying there. Sorry about the concussion but was the risk really worth trying to keep just piling on to what was at the time lowly UK?
