Since they didn't get to the final 4 all they have to talk about is how amazing the ACC is. They really believe, by being associated with the ACC that makes them relevant. One idiot just told me how, for the past 3 seasons, the Champ has come out of their conference. Well, UCONN was in the AAC, not ACC stupid. He just smiled a stupid grin and walked away!!!

I'm guessing either you misunderstood their comment or thy didn't explain the comment accurately. The past 3 National Champions have come from the same conference that UofL was in at that time. We've moved around...a lot.
2013: Louisville (no explanation needed)
2014: UConn, an AAC member, as was UofL
2015: Duke, an ACC member, as is UofL.

I thought the same thing, Straykat. But if I lived in the Congo and was a fan of the University Alaska-Anchorage, I would still say the SEC has the best football on a consistent basis. It's not because Kentucky is in that conference. Does make for a tough schedule though. LOL!!
Steelers, you can't possibly condone that as smack talk can you? What the flying hell does it matter if the champion came from your conference? Did UK football get credit and the ability to talk smack to UL fans because the SEC won like 8 titles in a row?
Yup, and its just as embarrassing. It looks ridiculous hiding behind/riding the coattails of your conference, especially when the rest of the conference sees you as an embarassment in one sport and hates you, and would rather pull for UL, in the other.
I neither condone nor support the comments, just tried to explain the comment to the OP. Duke winning a NC doesn't better UofL's season or program results whatsoever (well, except financially).
I will never again pull for another SEC football team that isn't UK. They can all eat a giant AIDS laden poop sandwich.
There's no depth too pathetic. Last year it was UCONN, this year Duke. Still, they lead the NCAA in vicarious championships, so that's impressive.
For me, I've never understood caring about what other conference teams do. These are absolutely artificial relationships, forged entirely out of profit motive. The recent regroupings nationwide make this crystal clear. Then again, these are probably the same type of idiots who would use nothing but Tide if their "favorite driver" was Darrell Waltrip.

Stupid is being too generous. I live in Louisville and after our game they were setting off fireworks and at least one guy was running down our street whooping and hollering. They didn't even do that in 2013! They are in a word pathetic!
Im not surprised you got to live threw your conference. When you don't hang banners you hang with those who do. Keep braggin about your conferee. We will keep braggin about winning titles!!!!
Yeah, that says ZERO about U of L. The SEC had the football champion something like 7 years in a row. Didn't make UK one bit better. Using the accomplishments of other teams to burnish your own reputation is not a good tactic.
This was something I was dreading when UofL made the jump to the ACC. Just solidifies my utter contempt for all things UofL.
Football and basketball are different. Football doesn't have as much room for upsets to start with. In addition the SEC bravado didn't start after one year. It resulted from total dominance and winning 7 titles straight with 4 different teams when many times the team that loss the sec championship was the 2nd best team. And te overall bowl record against other conferences was also very dominant even when it was middle of the road SEC teams vs the top 1 or 2 teams from other conferences.

UL has done nothing to build the ACC. They bought their way into it. They bounce from conference to conference because the grass is always greener...What do they have to brag about?

What is with all these UK fans saying this is what we do in football? I must have missed all the pom-pom waving UK fans do about being in the SEC. Seriously, are UK fans really saying that we are better than we actually are because we are in the SEC? I don't know these people. Most UK fans are pretty realistic about our football program.
They were a dominant member of the Big East until that league got raided by conference expansion. Got invited to the ACC but had to wait a year for the exit of Maryland. Now they are a member of one of the toughest basketball conferences once again and in their first year finished 4th in the conference with a win over the conference champion. Other than the waiting season in the aac every step UofL has made is a step up. They bring with them 3 national titles and 10 final fours. If you would you like to brag about SEC basketball now be my guest.
Yes, you must have missed it because I got into it with them all the time over the constant bragging of the SEC and how dominant it was and how 'so and so' wouldn't be in the top 5 in the SEC when they were talking about Ohio State, Oregon, or FSU. And then despite me telling many of how overrated the west was this year, they pounded their chest as if they were so much better than everyone else and then ...the top 5 teams in the west all lost their bowl games.
The topic is piggy backing off of a conference's accomplishments and our fan base most certainly does that with football; not all but most.
