Sorry if this turns into a rant but it needs to be said. I am an upcoming senior and I have been to every single home game and a lot of the away games in my time here. This season Hail State Rewards decided to base ticket buying off how many games you atteneded in 2018 which is fine. We were told that our HSR app would check us in automatically through location tracking. Well yesterday I got an email saying that I only atteneded THREE games last year. THREE!! And when I messaged HSR to ask if there was an error they told me basically tough luck and that i should have went to some tent to check in. Which i would have done I guess but I was told if I had the app downloaded I wouldnt have to worry about it. Now I am stuck with a low priority for my senior year and I am worried I wont get tickets which would be outrageous simply becasue their stupid app says I was only at three games like a goob.

I know there might not be many students on here but I thought it needed to be said, and Im curious if anyone else has this problem.

Do you have the settings on the HSR app to automatically detect your location? When I was a student mine automatically checked me in when I got to the game

I got the email yesterday, and it luckily checked me into 6 games, even though I went to all 7 as well. The app can be really frustrating. I thought mine would automatically check me in too, but it hasn't checked me in to some baseball games that I have attended. I think you have to have it always detecting your location, or else it will only check you in if you open the app. I think you will still be able to get tickets, I've bought them pretty late in the process before and I've never had trouble. I also wish they'd update some prizes on the app too.

Just be glad you weren’t in school during tents for tickets
Just be glad you weren't in school during Croom or in my case it was so bad and so long ago that you don't even remember who the damn coach was.

Hearing stuff like this really makes me happy that I could buy a book of home game tickets for $35 and sell each of them for $20. I really enjoy going to the games, but an egg bowl ruined it after dude1 stabbed dude2 in the dome with a cowbell in the student section. So I quit going into the game and, instead, watched the game in the junction. Me and my buddies had the full monte setup; beer pong on a custom MSU table, surround sound, 50" flat screen and all the food/beer you could want.

Sure hope you don't get hosed on this deal, but I will say that I think it's awesome that student ticket priority is now being based on attendance.

Just wish that we'd do something similar for all the tickets donated to corporate sponsors and such. I mean... if they don't care enough about the seats to go to the games or even given them away, do they really even give a crap about the tickets in the first place?

We had several marketing blunders under Scott Stricklin. This one was towards the top. And unless you were a student at the time, most of the fan base has no idea what this is.

talking to Rotorhead, BhamDawg. Anyway I'll explain how Rotor's post was bull.

When the junction was created, you weren't buying student season tickets for $35 bucks. I am pretty sure the price was double that. Also, if any incident happened like he described, I am sure it would have made it to this board, around campus, or hell- even the Reflector.

Strick was the AD, so the blame ultimately falls to him but wasn't Tents4Tickets Rhett Hobart's baby?

Did you check in at the tent on the three games they credited you for?

That doesn't seem to be an issue at football because all the 'good' seats are occupied. It's certainly a problem for baseball and basketball, but those I assume are high-roller season ticket holders and not necessarily corporate seats.

There also were no 55" flatscreens available when student season tickets were $35.

Egg Bowl 2011. Student Section. After the game, 2 guys were running down the aluminum steps...people initially thought they were celebrating; turns out, dude1 was chasing dude2. At the top of the stands, a girl was crying for help while kneeling over dude3. Dude3 had a 90-degree cut in his head just inside his hairline and was bleeding like a stuck pig. We helped dude3 down the stands so he could get in the ambulance sooner once it got there.
Dude1 comes back and says Dude2 got away. We asked what happened.
Dude2 was an Ole Miss student and was visiting his gf who was friends with Dude1 and Dude3. Dude2 had asked Dude3 to quit ringing the cowbell in his face on several occasions, but Dude3 kept on anyway. (I imagine it didn't help that dude2 was an OM student in the MSU student section). After one occasion of Dude3 ringing the cowbell in dude2's face, dude2 grabbed it and brought the bell end down on dude3's head. Which led to dude1 punching dude2 and them tussling down the steps.

So, Drewbowski, my story is not 100% ********. Ticket prices...maybe. That was a long time ago and student ticket prices aren't on my priority list of things to remember.

This whole thread is proof of why I should write things down instead of trying to remember. But thank you CortVain for evidence supporting my "********" story.
Oh, they did have 55" tv's in 2009...when ticket prices were 35.00...soooo Good talk guys
