I am very confused here...
How do you watch a movie at home on your TV or other device that is currently in theaters for free?
Are the things mentioned in this thread (VUDU, Kodi, Exodus, etc.) free downloads or free apps that let you do this? Or do you pay for them and they have an up to date library of current cinema?

Living in China, I've been searching for ways to watch some movies. I just downloaded the most up to date version of Kodi and the most up to date of the add on Exodus. Now I want to watch something. But for example, if I click "Movies-> genre-> action" I'll see the "working" icon in the corner, but then it just stops and nothing happens. I've tried with my VPN on and off and still the same result of nothing. Any suggestions?
I don't used Netflix yet but they say 5.0 Mbps for HD streaming - 25 Mbps for 4k stuff.
Of course they are stealing the product. Those are apps that just enable it. People using these products aren't paying for anything. That's the whole argument going on.
Anyone that thinks it's ok to "stream" new releases to their home is simply justifying their actions. Whether or not it's "illegal", they know it's wrong, but simply don't care.
What I love more than that is throwing around the "I am being bullied" line. Now go pick up a participation trophy for streaming your stolen content.
Right so that's like knowingly buying stolen goods but pleading stupidity that you didn't know - you're right you haven't broken any laws. So you know that if you are streaming a movie that is currently in the theater that the person who uploaded it has broken the law. However your point that you are in such a unique position with a busy life, and therefore don't have enough time to go to the movies so you are going to steal someone's intellectual property is pure genius! Based on your theory the next time I'm in the store and don't have time to wait in line because I have a busy life I'll just walk out of the store without paying - another winner!!!
Next time a bartender buys you a drink, I'm assuming you'll turn it down? Scold him for stealing from the owner?
Really bad example - bars do that for business purposes to keep you coming back. This does not equate to the masses streaming a movie for free - what benefit does Hollywood get? No movie theater sales and no movie rental - it's dead money.
Stealing is stealing. If the owner buys you a drink it's one thing, if the bartender gives you a drink to pad his tips that's stealing.
Wrong - most bartenders are given specific directions from owners/mangers to comp/buy patrons drinks who have had several - in fact the bartenders will have a comp sheet to track the free drinks they give out. It is good business and keeps the patrons coming back. As an owner/manager do you have to watch your staff like a hawk to make sure they don't take advantage? Absolutely!
Vudu is a legitimate video streaming service owned by Walmart. Don't lump that with Kodi.
No lumping, just asking as I am really uninformed on this topic.
So Vudu is like Netflix but with a more current inventory?
Vudu isn't a subscription service like Netflix. You purchase or rent videos individually.

Kodi is legit too....they are open sourced and do NOT support add-on that are intended to steal movies. But being open-source they can't really stop people.

Yeah.. sure its legit... but the legit stuff Kodi can do can be done by Plex. Kodi exists and is popular BECAUSE of all the illegal stuff you can do with it.
I once set up a HTPC with Kodi's forerunner.. forget its name... ah XBMC which stood for XBox Media Center which basically was designed to give you the functionality of Microsofts Media Center... which MS stopped offering/supporting. So I had a PC with a TV tuner card.. I was using it as it was legally intended.
I read about these addons.. like some here I didn't quite figure out just how illegal it was until after I saw what I could do with it. I deleted that crap right away. It is stealing.
I have Plex now... and yeah, I paid for it.

Does the public library have an online streaming content database? Because wtf drives to the library to get a movie in 2017?

If you can't get out to the theater because you have kids then watch the movies that are on TV or pay-per-view.

Vudu is great cause you can link accounts with a couple of friends or relatives, which increases your library. And it's all legal!!!
Mine has about 2,000 movies.
Oh, and also, you can link DisneyAnywhere movies with VUDU too. In fact, if you use the same credit card to buy a DVD movie from Walmart, it will automatically download it to your VUDU account. It's great!

No, I dont think they have digital movies... but if you are looking for digital entertainment, might I suggest a digital book. The Library does have an offering of many books that you can borrow in DIGITAL format for your enjoyment
