I think you play kofi straight up , and keep him off the line ...make him hit twos, and not let him shoot ones and not the rest of the Illino shoot threes

Don’t get Cliff 2 early fouls
Cliff will undoubtedly get two early fouls, but the key to slowing Kofi will be Paul doubling down to help out whoever is trying to guard Kofi. Paul has a way of throwing Kofi off his game down low due to Paul's aggression, and the fact that he's a good help-side defender on bigs. Paul plays tough--he's the toughest guy on the team and doesn't mind contact. Illinois will know Paul's gonna help out and will do two things with it in mind. One is the keep pounding Kofi down low to get us in foul trouble, and two is kick it to the wing for 3's. If they shoot near 30% from 3 we have a shot at winning. Above 35% and we're toast.

Not a chance. A healthy Curbelo was preseason first team Big Ten. He breaks down defenses and opens up everything for Kofi and shooters.
You don’t need someone breaking down defenses. Your team wins based on ball movement. Iowa that defends

Hey booty......is illinois better without Curbelo in your opinion?
Well they are certainly playing better now than they were when he was playing earlier, but that's because he was not right. To reach their ceiling, they do need him back and healthy. Frazier and Williams can man the PG spot adequately but against the best teams in the country we need Belo.

So, we didn't seem to have much of a strategy for Plummer or Grandison (30 pts on 15/26 shooting, .577)

Cockburn didn't beat us offensively... he crushed us on rebounds and let his guards tear us apart while we focused on him.

But hey, we held him to just 13 points. Yay.
