This is a 4 win team. Stein may get back to 10 wins some day, but it will be a while.
I figured on 4-8 or 5-7 before season with this schedule and him having a short window to build.
But I had hops it wouldn't look like Stoops ball. Sadly the second half looked Joker Vandy esque.

It's damn hard to break through in football because of the established hierarchy of elite programs and immense spending at places like Ohio State and Texas.

Meanwhile regarding Kentucky basketball, we have a $27 million dollar NIL budget but can't land any first round picks with that money.

The misallocation of funds has been fascinating to watch. In hoops, all you really need is three great players surrounded by role players. Pope still can't figure out how to put that together.

Yep. I just do not believe we can get enough great players to beat a Bama or UGA. We can sporadically have some really good seasons. But that will always be the ceiling with football.

But are we going to be good in basketball? I have my doubts. What sport do we have to look forward to. Mitch Barnhart really screwed us over in both major sports (Not talking about Stein but keeping Stoops too long).

The problem with the football team is the same as it has always been: depth.
The team hung with Alabama through the first half but faded as the game moved on.
Alabama had 3 TOs and 7 penalties in the first half. I think it was more a case of Alabama letting UK stay in the game.

Basketball should dominate every year n the NIL era. Instead its been an unmitigated disaster with Cals end of tenure and boosters withholding money supposedly. Then an atrocious hire by barney and pope getting UK down double digits every time u blink to a team with a pulse.

So id put more stock n football doing better short term than basketball based on expectations and coaches.

No use! Kentucky basketball is dead! Thanks to the worst coach ever at Kentucky! He’s made Kentucky basketball laughable and he’s a favorite amongst Louisville fans that should tell you guys something! It’s definitely football season. The only basketball at Kentucky is the women’s program!
