Stoops has developed our football team to be better each year

Cal has regressed every season since.

One develops players over time and one relies on a new team every year. I know two totallly different sports but if you woulda told me after 2015 that stoops would be where he has that program and cal where this program is I woulda said you’re nuts.

Man I don’t want barney making anymore basketball hires

Having a football AD at a basketball school is dumb as sh*t .. look how many 9+ losses we’ve had since Barnhart got here...

They’re not comparable. Stoops will never win a title at Kentucky. Stoops is coaching a team full of juniors and seniors who have gained a ton of experience over the years. Hate to say it but I think this year will be the best year Stoops will have here. Hope I’m wrong though.

Stupid post. ADs are ultimately judged by football. It pays the bills and is big business. KY b-ball can win on autopilot, but we MUST keep feeding the bell cow.

Football makes money no matter what ... it made money even during 2 win seasons. Basketball is what feeds the fan base here. Take care of what you are best at

if they were judged by football then barnhart would be fired by now for only having a handful of decent football seasons. His *** would be fired at any good football school

If we keep trending upward in football, none of this will matter. Basketball is all we’ve had to hang our hats on. It’s good to have choices.

With Cal its a slow disaster, you could see it coming a few years back with the way he recruits. Had success with the top 5 players and upperclassmen at the same time. Later he Gets nothing but one and dones and relies on them and pretty much no upperclassmen whatsoever.
So then your totally dependent on getting the upper echelon talent to perform at a level that is "Kentucky"
If you don't get those players your gonna be in trouble.
When your getting freshmen that are not so talented but leave after a year then your really setting up yourself for a disaster.
Now we look at now where we are not getting top 5 talent but instead fringe 5 star guys who leave after a year or 2 years and gone at the most. It's not gonna work, has never work and will not work.

both of them are great recruiters and average game coaches
How many games a year does the football team have the most talent? 4/5 out of 13 tops

How many does the basketball team have the most talent? 35/40

Spin it however you want Stoops is winning with less talent than most sec schools.

Cal... not so much

What are you talking about? when I posted that all we had was 2 7 win seasons and at the time 9 wins this year in football and its true an AD at a top 15 football program wouldnt last with 7 win seasons and an occasional 9 win season. being the best they had in football. Are you that dense?

Do you think The AD at Bama or UF or Oklahoma would last through joker's records and the first 2 stoops years?

........ we are judged by basketball here

I'm not sure who you should be rooting for but it's obviously not Kentucky.
Louisville maybe.......Duke.......IDK but definitely not a UK fan.

Did we get to the FF this year?
What will you homers do if the op brings a post like this up if we are bounced after the first weekend?
Jesus, let it ride until you have something to hang your hat on.
You complain about trolling and do it also...

You can’t compare the two op, it’s not fair. Cal gets 9 months to develop freshman that are likely leaving after year one. It took guys like snell to develop over 3 years. If cal had guys for 3 years, it would be a totally different story. This is an awful comparison

John Calipari, since 2009-10:

Most NCAA Tournament wins (28)
Most Final Fours
Most Elite 8s
Most Sweet 16s
Second Most Wins
Second Highest Winning Percentage

That's just off the top of my head. We do have something to hang our hat on. You on the other hand are an unrepentant, irredeemable knucklehead. You're either a troll or a terrible excuse for a "fan". No other choice.

The one thing I have noticed over the years is that our basketball coaches spend more time supporting the football coaches than the other way around. I get the basketball team doesn’t need it but yeah.

You’re right they should let the season play out and stop the pumping after one big win. Funny how when I made that post 6 weeks ago these guys didn’t challenge it. Calling me the troll is like the pot calling the kettle black to dredge up the past.

I’m happy this team seems to working things out and I want nothing more than to hang out 9th banner; however, I stand by my statement of multi year vs one and done. Benny snell may be more favorable to bbn than AD. The fact he was here 3 years and the same with Allen. Cals system is painful if it doesn’t yield a title contender every year bc who knows what the next season brings.

I don’t want cal out. I want him to succeed. I will never embrace the OAD. It’s not what college athletics are about. It’s actually the antithesis. It doesn’t mean I don’t support our coach. I feel as though cal maybe leaning out the door. That’s why I made the statement about barney. Who wants him to make another hire in basketball?? I hope cal stays past Barney’s time.

Cals success this season will be determined in the ncaa tournament and I made clear lately our team seems like one that can make a nice run at a title. Anyone to take a shot and call me “bandwagon” is simply a fool for assuming they know me. I was born on the UK campus, my father was a professor there, we’ve had season tickets for generations and I go to 6-8 games a year. I even went and cheered my butt off when we played unlv in memorial in the bcg nit. 95% of the people posting here never stepped foot into rupp. Know who you’re talking to before you sling mud calling anyone taking time to post here bandwagon. I may be emotional but I’m no bandwagon.

Cal gets? He chooses. You’re right though it’s not right to compare the two but it’s not bc it’s fair. The differences are more in the scope and magnitude of the size of one program vs the other. For fans though I know the crowd that supports fb and bb equally they on balance feel tighter with the fb team bc we watched Benny and the rest grow as players and as people. My mindset will always be uk wildcats over players. I hope soon the OAD is done away with and players who want to get paid can go directly. I want to see the college put back into inter collegiate athletics.

I don't get where the Fans think that Coach Cal has stepped backwards in his coaching and recruiting at all. In 14-15 season we were 38-1 and lost to Wisconsin in the FInal Four, in 15-16 we had a terrible draw and had IU and UNC in our bracket and lost to IU in Iowa when we had Ulis, Murray, Willis, Poy, and Hump and lost by 6, in 16-17 we lost to UNC in the Elite 8 on the last second shot by Luke Maye and that was the game we had all off our starting 5 basically on the bench in 1st half with foul trouble, then last year Sweet 16 loss to Kansas State when SGA went 2/10 from the field, PJ went 8/21 from the FT Line, and Richards only played 8 minutes and we lose by 3. Last season we should have beaten Kansas State and Loyola Chicago to get to the Final Four after Top 4 seeds go down in 1st weekend of play. In last 4 years Coach Cal has taken us to the Final Four at 38-1 and lost to Wisconsin and we should have won it all, then the IU game and seeding that we received in Iowa in same bracket with IU and UNC, then Elite 8 loss to UNC on Luke Maye last second shot to make it to the FInal Four, and then last year we should have made it to the Final Four with our draw. In those 4 years Coach Cal has been in the Top 2 in the recruiting and went to Final Four, Elite 8, S16, and the second round loss to IU. That is not that bad with the draws that we receive during March Madness. I just don't see where fans think Coach Cal has stepped backwards in recruiting and coaching. The Kentucky Fans should remember the last 3-4 years with Tubby and lucky if we were landing a 4 star player and bringing in 3 star players too and then Gillispie for last 2 years. Fans don't get it how lucky Kentucky has been in the last 10 years with Coach Cal and how exciting players and teams we have seen in his first 10 years of coaching at Kentucky.

Amen @CatGotMyTongue. I'm satisfied the revenue for this football season is a lot higher after a 10 win season.

KENTUCKY ($36.4 MILLION)

You may think Kentucky is a basketball school, but football remains quite lucrative. Take this excerpt from Penn Live: "Even though the Wildcats dragged six consecutive losing seasons into 2016 with not even a bowl since 2010, their 7-6 year capped by a fleabag-bowl loss to Georgia Tech still generated 30 percent more gross revenue than Kentucky men’s hoops ($28 million) during a 2016-17 SEC championship season ending with a No. 5 national ranking and Elite Eight appearance. Comparative profits: $10.8 million for football; $8.8 million for basketball."
