Hot take: I think it’s all somewhat overrated. Always thought if it were THAT good there’d be restaurants that specialized in it.
I sort of agree as far as the holiday being overrated. The food however isn’t. A Thanksgiving Food restaurant would be clutch. I mean they have Mexican restaurants. Mexican food for the most part is mediocre but it doesn’t stop them from putting up a restaurant on every corner. It also doesn’t stop rednecks from claiming it’s the best stuff ever when it’s cheap chicken and steak covered with cheap cheese.
I’m gonna be unpopular in my opinion, but Thanksgiving food in general is overrated.
I've run into this before. Most people have probably only had dressing that sucks and turkey that is dry or tasteless. I can also see getting tired of it all this time of year.
I can't stand the cut up hotdogs and macaroni at the kids table. Even being piss drunk doesn't help.
Sorry I had to downvote this, but when you live up north, NOTHING has a casserole. I miss them.

Luby’s? Was that the buffet in Northpark? If not, does anyone remember what I’m talking about? I would always get so damn mad when I’d find out that’s where we were eating.
Never cared for cafeterias either. For the record I like some thanksgiving food but I do think it’s overhyped as a whole.

I like spice. I like to cook Cajun, Italian, Mexican and a little Asian.
The traditional Thanksgiving Day menu is kinda bland, but if you have good cooks cooking good food it can be quite good. With potlucks half the people can't cook for ****.

Really it's the sweet potatoes themselves that I hate. I would scrape off the marshmallow topping and just eat that if I could get away with it.
Ok so 17 cranberry sauce but come on guys. Thanksgiving food is awesome not to mention the sandwich the next day.
I would have to go with cranberry. My group swaps every other year has a non-traditional supper. One year we fried fish and hushpuppies, another we made gumbo. Keeps it from getting stale. We have rarely had a traditional Christmas meal because of work, but maybe we can now that I am disabled/retired but I imagine we will flip-flop it as well.
Jellied cranberry sauce on cornbread dressing with gravy poured on top is one of the things that make this country great. Not some lumpy crap she saw on the food network made by puréing cranberries and raisins and some ****. I'm talking about The cranberry sauce strait from the can that sounds like a Taco Bell next morning **** when it hits the plate Any leftover cranberry sauce is to be used as a condiment spread on tomorrow's turkey sandwich like jelly on a sausage biscuit.
