He got beat. Did shenanigans happen? Probably, but its politics, shenanigans always happen. Was it enough to swing an election? Experts will debate it for years but we will probably never know. But much like most candidates that lose, like Hillary in 2016, Trump only has to look in the mirror to see who to blame. In a perfect world he should have put a governor on his Twitter account and cut out some of the nonsense. But we don't live in a perfect world and a tiger can't change his stripes.
The thing to think about though is he not been so brash and braggadocios, eager to stick his thumb in most democrats, the MSMs, and everyone that didn't want the apple cart overturned eyes then those people would not have pulled out all the stops, spent untold billions of dollars, and gone to the ends of the earth to make sure that he did not get another four years in the Oval Office. But had he not done all of that then his supporters would not have loved him the way a politician has probably never been loved before. You probably don't see millions of people that have never had an interest in politics in their entire lives spend tens of millions of dollars on cheap red hats, stand outside for hours in the wee hours of the night in 26 degree weather with wind blowing 20 mph on a November night in western Pennsylvania, and not stood in lines for 2-3 hours during a pandemic that has killed millions worldwide just to put a check by his name. At the end of the day he is who is and his presidency was what it was. Like him or not, he was a political phenomenon of which we will likely never see again. People will never look at politicians and the media the same again. And maybe thats a good thing.
He really is not unlike a shooting star. There are untold billions upon billions of meteors going about their business flying through space. Most will never be seen, thought about, or have any impact on Earth. They will go on and do so until whatever happens at the end of space and time. But every now and then one will find Earth in its crosshairs. If its lucky enough to enter our atmosphere at night it may put on a spectacular show. But the downside is that while it may get lots of "ohhs and ahhs," the brighter it gets the quicker it will burn out. Call it the price of fame if you will. Most of us will see a few of these in our lifetime, depending on the amount of time we spend looking up. But once every couple of centuries we(the royal "we" if you will) will see one of these. We never see them coming and we likely will never be the same again. This is the phenomenon that is Trump.

Something to think about, absolutely not a prediction nor a theory, but what will Democrats and the media do if you replace 2017 with 2021, replace Trump with Biden, and replace Russia with China. Insert a dossier. Stranger things have happened.
